What Rihanna Did For Her Dad After His Coronavirus Diagnosis

At least a handful of celebrities have been diagnosed with the coronavirus, and it looks like the virus has also affected some of their family members. Just one example? CNN news anchor, Chris Cuomo, who has COVID-19, revealed on April 15, 2020, that his wife has the illness as well

It has since been revealed that Robyn "Rihanna" Fenty's dad, Ronald Fenty, was diagnosed with the virus in April 2020. Although Rihanna hasn't spoken about the situation publicly, her father, who is based in Barbados, opened up about his experience in an April 9, 2020, interview with The Sun. "I got a fever up inside of my nose," he said about his harrowing symptoms. "I had a fever across my lips. It was just a lot of fever." He added, "I feared the worst. I thought I was going to die, honestly."

Luckily for Fenty's sake, Rihanna was able to step in and supposedly provide him with the help he needed.

Ronald Fenty claims Rihanna saved his life

It's unclear when Ronald Fenty was diagnosed with the coronavirus, although he confirmed spending 14 days at an isolation center on Barbados while he battled the illness. During this time, Fenty's symptoms got so bad he thought he was "going to die." However, he was able to pull through after Rihanna, who had been "checking in" on him "every day," shipped him a ventilator that hadn't been used, he claimed. "I have to say, I love you so much,'" he told Rihanna via The Sun. "She did so much for me. I appreciate everything she has done."

Now that Fenty is doing better, he's committed to spreading awareness about the virus. "I want everybody to stay home," he said. "This is a serious situation. More serious than people realize. Please stay home."

As for Rihanna, her foundation donated $5 million to various organizations assisting with coronavirus relief efforts. "When we first began this year, never could we have imagined how (the coronavirus) would so dramatically alter our lives," the Clara Lionel Foundation said in a March 2020 statement. "It doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, this pandemic will affect us all. And for the world's most vulnerable, the worst may be yet to come."

What's more? New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo thanked the singer for "donating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)" to the state. Bravo, RiRi.
