She and her husband, musician John Cusimano, have been married since 2005 with no rumors or hints of the seemingly happy couple looking to build a brood. For many years, Ray has been indirectly and directly asked questions about having or not having kids. Her answers provide clear and candid testimony to where she sees her life and success going in the future. In fact, when asked if she feels like she's missing out on motherhood, Ray simply replied, "I don't feel like I am. I really don't."

Rachael Ray tried to set up her husband with someone else
Rachael Ray and John Cusimano's first interaction was a quirky misunderstanding. The celebrity chef actually attempted to set up her groom-to-be with another man! She explained the kerfuffle on an episode of The Rachael Ray Show (via People). Ray said she assumed Cusimano, a lawyer and the lead singer of indie rock band The Cringe, was gay after he told her what he had made himself for dinner the previous evening.
"I was going to set him up with a friend of mine — another handsome Italian man — and he said, 'Oh, I'm not gay!' So we stayed out until 4 in the morning. That really was our first date," she said.
Cusimano proved to be the perfect complement to Ray's foodie lifestyle. He's reportedly known for making delicious cocktails, and on more than one occasion, the jack of all trades has guest appeared on The Rachael Ray Show to introduce her audience to new mixes and serve as a fun companion to the already bubbly and perky Ray.
Rachael Ray thinks she'd do a 'bad job' parenting
When it comes to reproduction, kids are apparently not on the menu for Rachael Ray and husband John Cusimano. The celebrity chef, TV star, and business mogul says her lifestyle is not agreeable with raising kids.
"I don't have time. I work too much to be an appropriate parent," she told People. "I feel like a bad mom to my dog some days because I'm just not here enough. I just feel like I would do a bad job if I actually took the time to literally give birth to a kid right now and try and juggle everything I'm doing."
There have been headline-making rumors about Cusimano cheating in the past, but the couple has vehemently denied the tabloid talk. In fact, Roy and Cusimano seem happy with their life choices and comfortable writing their own narrative. "I don't think of us as married," she told him in an episode of her show. "I just think of us as us."
Rachael Ray wants to inspire kids in the kitchen
Though Rachael Ray doesn't plan on having kids of her own, she's still impacting future generations by inspiring young chefs to get in the kitchen and learn how to move around a few pots and pans.
Ray hosts a mini-Masterchef competition show, Rachael Ray's Kids Cook-Off, where children from across the country go head-to-head in the kitchen with their best recipes. The winner of the show is crowned Kids Cook-Off Champion and gets their own show on FoodNetwork.com.
On top of this fun and adorable show, Ray also runs a nonprofit organization, Yum-o!, that focuses on educating kids and families on the importance of having a healthy relationship with food. Launched in 2006, Yum-o! introduces kids to meals that are easy, nutritious, and affordable, making them great choices for both kids and parents.
"Nothing makes me happier than when people say I have helped them in some way or that their kids like watching my shows," Ray said on the organization's website. "I hope that Yum-o! can be another way to help make everyone's lives easier and introduce people to the fun in cooking."
Rachael Ray is a mom to Isaboo, her rescue dog
Rachael Ray isn't shy about sharing the fact that she loves animals. Just take a peek at her Instagram account, and you'll regularly see the TV star hanging out with puppies and sharing shots of potential pets who are up for adoption. "What can I say? I'm a sucker for animals," she admitted while posting a photo of herself getting a kiss from a cute canine. "I get it from my mom, who always wanted to save every creature she met!"
While Ray didn't follow in her mom's footsteps when it comes to having kids, the star considers herself a "mom" to her dog. "When I look at Isaboo, I'm reminded of all of the folks who see their pets as family members. She is my daughter," Ray told Dogster in 2016.
The celebrity chef also admits that her pup is "spoiled," which seems clear when you see how she gets to spend her time lounging around, watching movies from her cozy bed, and napping "al fresco" in the sunshine. She was even thrown a surprise party for her 15th birthday in February 2020 and got to pose with her mom's Emmy Award.
