The Truth About Geoffrey Paschel's Shady Past

Season 4 of Before the 90 Days has been chock full of drama, especially where it concerns Tennessee resident Geoffrey Paschel, who struck up a relationship with a woman in Russia named Varya Malina. And when the dad visited Varya in her home country, things were uncomfortable from the start — not only did he accuse Varya of using him, but he also expressed anger when she didn't accept his marriage proposal

Just when you thought things couldn't get more intense between the two, Geoffrey started dating his best friend Mary when he returned to Tennessee, sparking a competition between his new lady love and Varya. Spoiler alert: In the end, Geoffrey chose Varya over Mary, although it's not clear if they're still together as of this writing.

Switching gears a bit, some fans might not know that underneath the couple's love story lies concerning allegations about Geoffrey's past relationship with an ex-girlfriend. These claims also raise questions about whether Geoffrey was telling Varya the truth when he said his arrest record just involved drug dealing.

Ready to find out the truth about Geoffrey Paschel's shady past? Here's everything you need to know.

Geoffrey Paschel's ex accused him of abuse

Before Geoffrey Paschel met Varya Malina (pictured above right), in June 2019 he was arrested on charges of "aggravated kidnapping, domestic assault, interference with emergency calls and vandalism," Knoxville News Sentinel reported. Geoffrey's then-girlfriend alleged that during a fight, "he repeatedly bashed/slammed" her head "into the hardwood floors" of her house, according to a petition for protection obtained by the outlet. She continued, "He dragged me through the house by my hair and continued throwing my body into walls and furniture. I know this because of blood on my walls, furniture, etc." Geoffrey's ex accused him of disabling her phone before she was able to dial 911 for help.

A paramedic who arrived at the scene concluded that the ex "exhibited common signs of a concussion and she was taken to a local hospital by her neighbor for further medical evaluation," according to the affidavit obtained by Oxygen.

In the woman's filing, she also alleged Geoffrey pushed, hit, choked, and verbally threatened her on "four other occasions since September 2018."

The reality star's former girlfriend was granted a temporary order of protection, and the case is ongoing as of this writing.

Geoffrey Paschel responds to the allegations

At a January 2020 court hearing, Geoffrey Paschel denied any wrongdoing against his ex, telling Knoxville News Sentinel that the charges are somehow related to his custody case with another woman. He has pled not guilty to the charges, and he believes he'll win in court. "I don't feel like I'm going to [beat these charges]; I know I'm going to," he said during a May 2020 appearance on the Domenick Nati Show. "I know the truth."

Geoffrey also addressed the claims in a since-deleted Instagram post, writing (via Oxygen), "I can assure you, if any of these fables were true, I would bow out and accept responsibility. Not all is as it seems," he wrote. "I have been held back from defending myself, but the time has come that I stand up to the incredulous and contrived conditions that keep compounding."

The Tennesse resident has since ben disinvited from the 90 Day Fiance tell-all, which he is not happy about. "I feel that the network has bowed down to the pressure of a few thousand people as opposed to the, you know, 3.3 million people that watch the show," he complained to Nati.
