The Untold Truth Of Dennis Quaid's New Wife, Laura Savoie

On June 2, 2020, Dennis Quaid and Laura Savoie secretly eloped in Santa Barbara, Calif. — eight months after the pair got engaged, reported People. The lovebirds had planned on tying the knot in Hawaii in April 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic put a stop to that. While the duo couldn't celebrate with friends and family — a pastor was the only witness at the ceremony — Quaid and Savoie seem excited and eager to begin the next chapter in their lives.

The wedding was "beautiful," gushed the 66-year-old groom. According to People, the ceremony took place at a seaside resort. Quaid is clearly head over heels for his 27-year-old wife. "Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride," he said.

Quaid has been married three times before — to actress P.J. Soles from 1978 to 1983; to Sleepless in Seattle star Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001; and to real estate professional Kimberly Quaid from 2004 to 2018. Dennis and Kimberly have twins, Thomas and Zoe, born in 2007, and he and Ryan have a son named Jack, born in 1992 — the same year Dennis' new wife was born.

Despite the big age gap, the actor believes he's finally found a love to stand the test of time. "This is the final one, I know it is," he told The Guardian in November 2019. "I feel like I have a real partner in life."

So, who is Savoie? Let's find out more about Quaid's new wife.

Dennis Quaid loves the way Laura Savoie sees the world

As the saying goes: when you know, you know, and that certainly applies to Dennis Quaid's love life. The actor's relationship with Laura Savoie moved quickly once the pair met at a business event in 2019. "It was love at first sight," The Parent Trap star told People in June 2020.

In May 2019, Quaid and Savoie officially started dating, and Quaid was quickly smitten with the Missouri native. "I just love who she is as a person," he gushed. "Her character, her intelligence, of course her beauty. And her point of view of the world."

Even though Quaid and Savoie haven't been together that long — they got engaged in October 2019, per Entertainment Tonight — they seem like a perfect match. Savoie told People she has "never met someone who is so in love with life. It's like nothing can bring him down. Just getting to do life with someone who lives that way is inspiring for me. It changes my perspective and it brings so much joy to every day."

Laura Savoie has an impressive résumé

Dennis Quaid has experienced plenty of success as an actor, but his new wife, Laura Savoie, also has an impressive résumé. According to Savoie's LinkedIn profile, she graduated valedictorian of her class from Pepperdine University in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in accounting and a 4.0 GPA. Additionally, she was reportedly named the Regent Scholar and "Outstanding Graduate in Accounting" from the California-based college. After Pepperdine, Savoie went to graduate school at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where she earned her master's degree in "accounting, financial reporting and assurance services," graduating magna cum laude in 2015.

Savoie was hired at the accounting firm Ernst & Young in 2015, where she worked with clients "in real estate, biopharmaceutical, retail consumer products, and media and entertainment industries," her profile states. She reportedly left the company in 2017 to earn her Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Texas in Austin, where she is currently "teaching and [a] research assistant," according to LinkedIn. Not to mention, Savoie is reportedly a yoga teacher and has a real estate license in California. Did we mention she's not even 30 years old yet?

Dennis Quaid wasn't looking for a younger wife

Even though Dennis Quaid is almost 40 years older than his wife, Laura Savoie, he doesn't seem to mind the age gap. "No, it really doesn't bother us," he told The Guardian in November 2019. "Everyone comes from the perspective of their own life and so I can't comment on the way they feel; I can't even get angry."

In fact, The Rookie actor isn't sweating the negative comments about the age difference between him and his new wife. All the attention from the press "was really a laugh," he said. "I thought it was wonderful, actually."

The Hollywood star has continued to make it clear that his connection with Savoie happened organically. "I didn't go out looking for an age gap or someone really younger than me," he explained. "I met her at a business event and then the relationship developed. You have no control over who you fall in love with. I don't fall in love easy. But I can't let what a few people think control all that."

It sounds like Quaid and Savoie found each other at the right time in their lives. Congrats to the newlyweds!
