One Of Presley Gerber's Final Instagram Posts Is So Devastating After His Death
One of Presley Gerber's last Instagram posts was an homage to his sister, Kaia Gerber. After Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber's son died at age 27 at a rehab facility on September 20, 2026, the picture of him and Kaia as young children playing in the snow acted as a reminder of how devastating the situation is. "The good old days," he captioned the January 2026 post in which he tagged his sister. After Presley underwent addiction treatment in March 2026, his social media posts became few and far between, making the picture with Kaia only the third-to-last time he shared to his feed.
This wasn't the only time in the months leading up to his death that Presley reminisced about his childhood alongside his little sister. In June 2025, he shared pictures of the two together at the beach that once again highlighted how tragic his death is. "Oh man ... this is so sad for the family," an Instagram user commented under the post.
Kaia and Presley were never shy to show off their tight bond, going so far as to get tattoos of each other's names. (She has "Prez" on her right shoulder, while he got "Kaia XXIII" inked on his upper bicep.) Kaia and Presley, who both followed in Crawford's footsteps in the modeling industry, were always glad to have each other to lean on in their journey. "We get to travel together half of the time, so it makes it a lot less lonely," he told People in 2018. As of this writing, Kaia hasn't personally addressed the loss of her brother, but his social media posts suggest it's a devastating time for her.
Kaia Gerber boasted about Presley a month before his death
Just a month before her brother's death, Kaia Gerber had shown admiration for Presley Gerber's strength amid his tragic struggles with addiction. While their parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, prefer to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight, their son opted to be open about his journey. And Kaia is proud of that. "Now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, 'I'm gonna be very human for everyone,' There's only so much you can hide from the world," she told Vogue in August 2026.
Kaia stood by Presley's decision to publicly discuss his addiction and mental health struggles, going out of her way to show that she was proud to be his sister. "Trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you're ashamed of them," she said. Presley had been an advocate for mental health, using his own story to raise awareness. "Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do," he said on the "Studio 22 Podcast" in 2023.
Three months before his death, Presley appeared alongside his parents at a event in which he discussed his experience with mental health, showing he tried hard to get healthy. "The most free I felt was when I was finally honest with myself," he shared (via People).
