Wayne Newton Is Still Spotted In Vegas. See What The '60s Heartthrob Looks Like Now
Mr. Las Vegas himself Wayne Newton is a living legend. Alongside his residency at The Flamingo Room, the singer and actor is also regularly spotted around town. And, just in case you were wondering if he sported a more low-key look off stage, think again! Newton and Vegas are so synonymous that his official website bears a quote from Merv Griffin, who asserts, "Las Vegas without Wayne Newton is like Disneyland without Mickey Mouse." A big reputation, no doubt, but undeniably true, and that goes beyond his own shows in Sin City, which he's been doing since his teens. Newton also regularly shows face at other big events taking place in Vegas, like ice hockey games played by the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Formula 1 attraction.
Of course, he does so as a public figure, so it probably shouldn't come as a surprise that Newton attends in full glam, but we've got to say we're blown away by the octogenarian's dedication to always looking like the star he is. At first glance, Newton looks pretty different today, but while some of his fans have remarked on that in recent years, we'd simply argue that the legendary performer is older. The singer celebrated his 84th birthday in 2026, so it only makes sense that he doesn't look exactly like he did in the '60s (or any of the decades in between then and now for that matter, all of which have seen him as the reigning king of Las Vegas). We'd also argue that even with the possibility of cosmetic work — which is hardly surprising for any public figure — Newton's primary features have remained the same. And, while there's a good chance he's had cosmetic dental work done over the years, his dazzlingly white smile isn't new.
Wayne Newton has been praised for his consistency
Spending decades in the spotlight is no small feat, so it goes without saying that Wayne Newton is something special. And, according to those who've loved him right from the start, one of the prolific performer's biggest draws is the fact that he hasn't changed a lot over the years. "Wayne is a fabulous performer — and a reason for that is CONSISTENCY! There's a reason he's been on the strip for 66+ years!" gushed one such fan on Instagram. Another over on Facebook proudly shared that they'd been going to his shows for years and he'd always maintained the same sparkle. They noted, "Enjoyed every one of them. Yes he still has his stage magic."
High praise for anyone, let alone someone who got their start as a child star. Newton also clearly has no plans to slow down as he gets older. In addition to his shows at the Flamingo Room, the singer also regularly tours across the country. And, in September 2026, Newton announced on Instagram that he would be performing in Greece the following April. That show was slated to take place shortly after his 85th birthday, so we're officially including Newton in our list of celebrities who just get better with age.
Longevity has always been at the forefront of the "Danke Schoen" hitmaker's mind. In a 1960 interview, the then-18-year-old detailed how he planned to keep his career going for years to come. "You have to do more things than just sing. You have to be a performer, for instance, and you have to strive to be an international star," Newton reasoned. Between his Las Vegas act, tours, and appearances on shows like "Dancing with the Stars," it's safe to say he did exactly that.
