Will Arnett Has One Of The Biggest Age-Gap Relationships In Hollywood Right Now

Will Arnett confirmed his relationship with girlfriend Emma Marciano during a September 2026 episode of the "SmartLess" podcast, which he co-hosts with fellow actor Jason Bateman and comedian Sean Hayes. "It's going really well," Arnett gushed without mentioning her directly. "I'm very happy. Very, very happy. Things are going great." Earlier, People revealed that he was dating Emma, a fashion designer who founded the LA womenswear label Mimchik. Her father is Maurice Marciano, a co-founder of the Guess clothing brand. Emma is also on the younger side, having been born around 1998, or a full 28 years after Arnett, making their romance one of the more notable age-gap relationships in Hollywood.

The pair was first romantically linked in June 2026 after being spotted out in Los Angeles, as seen in photos shared by the gossip website Deuxmoi on Instagram. Their massive age difference didn't go unnoticed among social media users, many of whom weren't exactly impressed. "Men get older and their girlfriends get younger," one user lamented in the comments. "Another middle aged man dating a 20 something. How cliche," someone else said in agreement.

While neither Arnett nor his girlfriend has publicly addressed their age-gap romance as of this writing, the "BoJack Horseman" star sounded pretty optimistic when asked about his outlook on the future. "If I f***ing knew what five years — I am now at 56, I have learned a little bit in the last two years, especially to let go of whatever ideas that I think it's going to go or is going to happen," he told his co-hosts. "You get dealt so many f***ing curveballs. And so I'm in a place now where I'm really trying my best to just deal with what's in front of me and try to take the next best."

While Will Arnett isn't exactly new to age-gap relationships, it's worth noting that none of his past romantic partners are in the same age bracket as Emma Marciano. The actor has walked down the aisle twice: Arnett's first wife is Penelope Ann Miller (who is actually six years his senior; the more you know!), and in 2003, he married Amy Poehler, with whom Arnett shares two kids, Archie and Abel. Poehler is just one year younger than her ex. 

Outside of his marriages, the "Arrested Development" star was in a long-term relationship with former Chapel founder and PR executive Alessandra Brawn, with whom he shared a nearly two-decade age gap. They had a son, Denny, in 2020, by which point Arnett was already 50.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2022, Arnett, who is typically private about his personal life, shared what it's like to navigate fatherhood at his age. "Well, when you already have kids, you know how long the road is," he said. "Like, this morning, just getting my two older boys out of the house and to school took a couple hours and by the time I'm home it's 8:30 and I'm three hours into the day already and I'm like: 'Oh my god. I'm in this for A WHILE.'" He was already nearing his 40s when Arnett became a first-time dad to his firstborn with Poehler. Before that, he didn't care much for kids. "I always joked that before I had kids, I didn't notice them," the actor confessed during a sit-down interview on the "Our Way" podcast. But having children of his own changed all of that. "It really brought everything into focus for me in life, and it really put everything into perspective," he said of becoming a father.
