Kailyn Lowry has spoken about her tough childhood and her estranged relationship with both her mom and dad. According to The Hollywood Gossip, Kailyn's mother suffered from alcoholism and the two "seldom have any contact." When Kailyn became pregnant with her first child, Isaac, her mother would not support her, so Kailyn moved in with the family of her son's father, Jo Rivera, per the outlet.
As a child, Kailyn knew even less of her father, who wasn't in her life while she was growing up. According to In Touch Weekly, in 2018 Kailyn tweeted, "The week of Thanksgiving 2009 was when I met my dad for the first time... and even though we haven't met again. That was an important time in my life." Per the same outlet, Kailyn elaborated, "I met my sperm donor for the first and last time on 16 & Pregnant. I was 17-years-old and I never looked back. He doesn't reach out and neither do I."
Despite these experiences, Kailyn slays as a mom. Her ex, Chris Lopez, jumped on social media in 2018 to gush about how great she is with their son, Lux, but also her other kids. He wrote (via a later article by In Touch Weekly), "Sitting back, I got a lot of respect for his mother. Raising not only my son but her other boys as well. I don't know how she does it lol." Kailyn also runs the podcast Coffee Convos with fellow host Lindsie Chrisley, a reality star from Chrisley Knows Best, where the two women dish about motherhood, life in front of the camera, and more. Additionally, Kailyn uses Instagram as a way to connect with her nearly 4 million followers. She frequently posts paid sponsorship and ads, including one for placenta encapsulation following the birth of her youngest son, Creed.
According to The Sun, Kailyn also founded and runs a CBD oil infused hair line called Pothead Haircare, which she runs out of her home in Middletown, Del.
