Chris Brown Refuses To Stand For National Anthem

Chris Brown is under fire yet again. The embattled 27-year-old singer played in a Power 106 charity basketball game in Los Angeles on Sept. 11, 2016. Despite it being the 15th anniversary of the horrific terror attacks in the United States, Brown refused to stand for the national anthem before the game started.

Breezy wasn't kneeling like some NFL players to make a statement (though he's previously applauded quarterback Colin Kaepernick's actions). Instead, Us Weekly reports that Brown was flat-out sitting and laughing it up with his pals during Tank's performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner." When TMZ called Brown out, he posted an Instagram screenshot of the TMZ headline, "Chris Brown Refuses to Stand for National Anthem...on 9/11" with the personalized caption, "Stay classy!" Brown reportedly did stand and applaud Tank at the end of the song.

That wasn't Brown's only drama at the game. TMZ reports that he also got into a screaming match with site security, and the exchange got so heated that police got involved. Sources told TMZ that Brown's personal security team had a hard time getting through site security because it wasn't wearing the correct identifiation. When Brown caught wind of the problem, he allegedly threw a fit. The incident was eventually cleared up.

In August 2016, Brown was arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on a woman named Baylee Curran after a party at his Los Angeles home turned ugly. He was released on $250,000 bail and maintains his innocence. His attorney, Mark Geragos, alleges that Curran may have set Brown up.
