Did Matt James Already Date One Of His Bachelor Contestants?

Maybe the second time's the charm for Bachelor Matt James? The reality star first took Bachelor Nation by storm when it was announced that he would appear as a contestant during Clare Crawley's season of The Bachelorette. Unfortunately, that season came to an abrupt halt due to COVID-19, and now the hit series is returning with some new twists. According to Entertainment Tonight, franchise alum Tayshia Adams replaced Clare as the new Bachelorette (for reasons that have yet to be disclosed), and Matt is returning, but as the star of the show in The Bachelor

Matt's new role brings new obstacles ... like finding out one of the contestants is actually his ex-girlfriend. Yep, that's right. According to Life & Style, one of the contestants is actually a former fling. Yikes! Who is this mystery woman? You're about to find out!

Did Matt James & Madison Nelson have a fling?

Matt James alleged former girlfriend and new Bachelor contestant is (drum roll, please) 27-year-old Madison Nelson, a native of Granger, Ind. (via Life & Style.)

As reported by Cosmopolitan, Steve Carbone (aka "Reality Steve") was the first to announce, via Twitter, that Matt and Madison had previously dated. "Some tea for you already: Apparently Madison Nelson was dating Matt last summer when Tyler was seeing GiGi. Went to one of the fashion shows with him. Here they are together. Heard they were together for at least a couple months," the piping hot tweet said. Carbone's photographic evidence was what appears to be a very blurry photo of the two. While this information is purely speculation to date, if it is true, that's going to make for one heck of a limo entrance!

As for Matt, during an appearance on Good Morning America, the Bachelor explained that he's simply looking for the same qualities in a partner that he values in his mom — someone who is "selfless, honest, caring [and] compassionate." He was also quick to add that those are "qualities found in women of all shapes, sizes, and races, and it's not a black or white thing. So, I'm hoping that when that limo pulls up there is a lot of diversity, and I see every type of woman coming out of that limo."

Stay tuned, everyone!
