This Is What Melania Trump Eats In A Day
Former model turned First Lady Melania Trump is well known by many for her slim and trim figure, allowing her to show off her fashion sense. But how does she maintain such a seemingly flawless physique? According to Business Insider, her diet has a lot to do with it — namely one that consists of mostly fresh, organic fruits and veggies.
In fact, according to Inside Edition, Melania makes a concerted effort each and every day to consume at least seven pieces of fruit, including her go-to favorites: apples and peaches. So, fruit is the secret weapon to the Melania Trump bod? Got it. Well... that and probably the gift of some really great genes. Are we right or are we right?!
But what does the FLOTUS typically consume during any given day? And how does that differ from her husband President Donald Trump's diet choices? Keep reading after the jump to find out!
Melania Trump jump-starts her day with a healthy smoothie
During an interview with Refinery29 in 2012, first lady Melania Trump revealed that she usually opts for a smoothie for breakfast. And no — this is not a Smoothie King or Jamba Juice situation. Instead Melania prepares her own smoothie each morning, making sure that it's packed to the brim with healthy, organic fruits and vegetables. "Well, in the morning, every morning, I have a smoothie with a few ingredients and a lot of vitamins in it — it's very healthy," she explained, before adding that every now and then she will indulge in a bowl of oatmeal. See?! First ladies — they're just like us.
But when asked about a particular diet, Melania was adamant that she doesn't follow a diet regimen. "It's not a diet, I just like to eat healthy because I feel better and have more energy. I don't have a particular snack I always eat. If I would snack, I would snack on maybe fruit or a little bit of chocolate, because I think your body needs that, too," she said. BRB, going to fulfill our bodies' need for chocolate right now.
Melania Trump is not a fan of onions or artichokes
While FLOTUS Melania Trump may have made a name for herself as a vegetable aficionado, make no mistake about it — there are some vegetables the first lady's not touching with a 10-foot pole.
Per Food & Wine, during an appearance on Martha Stewart's cooking and lifestyle show, aptly titled Martha, Melania divulged that she dislikes both onions and artichokes. During the episode, which aired in 2005, both Melania and her husband, Donald Trump, stood elbow-to-elbow with the queen of domesticity as she schooled them on the art of making homemade meatloaf.
During the segment, Melania confessed that she's not a fan of onions and would be preparing her meatloaf without them. As it turns out, however, her husband does enjoy the bulb vegetable. And while the two may disagree on onions they commiserate in their shared disdain for artichokes. Take notes, pizza delivery crews. Next time you're dropping off at the White House, hold the artichokes!
Melania Trump loves to make... a reservation
It's no secret that first lady Melania Trump can be a bit of an introvert. She apparently has no issue with staying home and preparing her own meals — but it appears she also loves to dine out as much as the next person.
During an interview with New York Magazine in 2010, Donald Trump's wife disclosed that she enjoys eating out and exploring the many dining establishments in New York, specifically at a restaurant located within the Trump International Hotel in Manhattan. "One thing I love most about New York is the variety of amazing foods you can eat. My all-time favorite is the Chicken Parmigianino at Jean Georges," Melania gushed.
But before you rush right out to the establishment, bear in mind that the particular dish described is gonna set you back a bit... to the tune of $68, per Inside Edition.
Melania Trump is not a fan of fast food
Like most couples, there are a few things that President Donald Trump and his first lady disagree on — one, in particular, being fast food. While the president prefers to chow down on many different fast food establishments, as evidenced by his campaign trail in 2016 (via Business Insider), in contrast, his wife, Melania Trump, prefers to stay away from the stuff, per Inside Edition.
But then again — we all indulge in guilty pleasures every now and then, right? Right. In fact, Melania made headlines when she and second lady Karen Pence made a pit stop at Whataburger for some of the chain's famous french fries, per ABC News. Later, the chain penned a tweet thanking the ladies for stopping by. "Hope it was a great meal," the now-famous tweet read.
See???!!! First ladies — they really are just like us.
