The Truth About Cooper Hefner And Scarlett Byrne's Relationship
It seems like Cooper Hefner, the son of the late Hugh Hefner, and actress Scarlett Byrne have found their happy ending. The media mogul apparently knew that Byrne was the one after watching her play Pansy Parkinson in the Harry Potter movies. In 2016, he told LA Weekly, "Scout Willis was one of my closest friends growing up. And, at the time, she was at Brown University with Emma Watson, so I thought that was my in." However, he ultimately spent "five years courting Byrne on Facebook," per LA Weekly. The end result? An ice cream date in Germany.
It must have been a good date because the two later got engaged in London in 2015, after Hefner asked Byrne's father for permission and proposed "with a massive yellow diamond," per Us Weekly. Their wedding, however, seemed more low key. Both Hefner and the Vampire Diaries actress posted Instagram photos of an intimate courthouse ceremony. That being said, it was no less romantic with Hefner captioning his post, in part, "Cheers to a life full of love, happiness, adventure, and great purpose, Mrs. Hefner. I love you dearly ..." Byrne captioned her photo with something similar, writing, "I love you Cooper. I am proud to stand by your side, as your partner, your friend, and your wife."
While it's unclear if they ever did have a bigger celebration, Hefner did post a photo a month after their wedding, sharing a "very special evening" that continued their "newlywed celebrations." These days, the good-looking couple have even more to celebrate.
Cooper Hefner and Scarlett Byrne welcomed a new member to their family
In August 2020, Cooper Hefner became a first-time father after Scarlett Byrne gave birth to baby girl named Betsy Rose Hefner. The businessman told People that he and his wife were "filled with such joy", adding, "we couldn't be happier." He also told the outlet that they were "look[ing] forward to being home and spending time together as a family in the days and weeks ahead."
Cooper and the Falling Skies actress originally revealed they were expecting their first child together on Instagram in March 2020, with both of them posting photos of Byrne cradling her baby bump. Since then, the lovebirds have posted several more photos of their adorable family.
The son of the late Playboy founder is now taking their family in a new direction outside of entertainment. In July 2020, he launched a bid for a California state Senate seat, telling CNN, "I am deeply concerned about my community and our government and believe that right now it's essential for new individuals to step forward and propose new ideas."
Surely, Byrne and daughter Betsy will be behind him all the way!
