The Truth About Diplo's Relationship With TikTok Star Quenlin Blackwell
American DJ and music producer Diplo (real name Thomas Wesley Pentz) made headlines in October 2020 due to his curious living arrangement. The situation came to the surface when TikTok star Quenlin Blackwell shared a video on Oct. 21, 2020, where she answered fan questions. According to TooFab, someone asked if her neighbors ever complained since some of her videos can be noisy. Blackwell shocked fans when she answered, "I live with Diplo right now, and he fully supports my endeavors."
She proved her claim by walking into another room where Diplo himself was standing. Blackwell jokingly asked, "Why do I live with you?" to which the music producer said (via TooFab), "I have no other friends. It's the truth." Given the 20+ year age difference between the two, fans seemed to be weirded out by the living arrangement. However, according to the Independent, both Diplo and Blackwell have spoken up on social media to explain the situation.

Music producer Diplo jumped on Twitter on Oct. 26, 2020, to explain Quenlin Blackwell's earlier video where she said she lived with him. "OK so I rent one of my properties to @quenblackwell," Diplo tweeted. "And yes I use the studio that is in that building. Her social media is sarcastic and chaotic and I can see you can get a twisted idea but there is nothing but a friendship between us."
Someone asked him on Twitter: "What do you have in common with a 19-year-old that would warrant a friendship, quick." Diplo responded: "We made music together."
Blackwell also responded to social media concern, jumping on Twitter to share a post explicitly talking about Diplo. On Oct. 25, 2020, Blackwell wrote, in part: "i'm an adult. i'm not being groomed. platonic relationships exist." She went on to touch on the fact that Diplo has been supportive of her career and even protected her from "the weirdos in L.A." Blackwell added: "my parents trust him. I trust him. y'all are making me feel icky."
Both Diplo and Blackwell have denied any strange behavior or romantic ties, but it seems natural that fans would at least ask about an alleged living arrangement between two people with a 20+ year age gap.
