The Adorable Inspiration Behind Beyonce's New Fashion Line

Swarms of BeyHive members were upset over how fast Beyonce's Ivy Park collection sold out in late October 2020. "The Drip 2 Collection" was the second wave of her Ivy Park x Adidas apparel collection. Fans had no time to get their hands on the new items after the merch sold out in mere minutes on both the official Adidas site and on the Ivy Park website, BET reports. Even when the line hit retailers a day later, the bots told hopefuls to hold their beer before snatching up the clothing in mere seconds.

If you're one of many Beyonce fans who had hopes of posting up pics in your Ivy Park drip but couldn't move fast enough, the least you could get is more details on the collection. While speaking with Vogue for her December 2020 cover, Queen Bey opened up about her family's quarantine activities that inspired her second apparel launch.

Beyonce took her 'Fashion Fridays' to another level

Considering hubby Jay-Z has been impacted monetarily by the novel coronavirus, it's commendable that Beyonce has been releasing her second apparel collection during the ongoing international health pandemic. As a result, the natural-born creative found ways to incorporate the inspiration she received. "During quarantine, fashion was a place of escape for me," Beyonce shared with Vogue. "My kids and I came up with Fashion Fridays. Every Friday, we would dress up in my clothes or make clothes together and take each other's pictures. It became a ritual for us and an opportunity to handle this crazy year together."

The second wave of Ivy Park boasts eye-catching hues of coral, green, and blue in addition to calming earth and jewel tones. This is something the Grammy award-winning singer did on purpose. "The newest Ivy Park collection was inspired by this new tradition," she explained. "It consciously uses bright, bold colors to remind us to smile. I used a lot of neon yellow and coral mixed with baby blue and earth tones that felt soothing. They brought me joy and made me smile in the midst of a tough time for all of us." Thank you, Queen Bey! Now, it's even tougher to snag one of these collection items!
