Alex Trebek's kids are part of a loving family that he and his wife Jean Currivan Trebek began when they married in 1990. People reported Trebek popped the question to Jean when he was 49 and his future wife was celebrating her 26th birthday. The couple welcomed son Matthew in 1990, adding daughter Emily to the family in 1993. In addition to Matthew and Emily Trebek, the Jeopardy host has a daughter, Nicky Trebek, from his first marriage.
Nicky Trebek is Elaine Trebek Kares' daughter from her first ex-husband. She and Trebek got married in 1974 when Nicky was 6 years old, and the game show legend adopted the little girl. While the marriage ended in divorce in 1981, Trebek "remained a father figure" to Nicky (via Amomama).

Of Alex Trebek's three adult children, only one (Nicky) followed him into the entertainment business.
According to People, the entertainment legend's son Matthew Trebek has built a successful hospitality business in New York City. Matthew became interested in the restaurant and bar industry while attending Fordham University in New York and working as a bartender. His hard work appears to be paying off. People noted that Matthew and business partners Nodar Mosiashvili and Chef Cassandra Rhodes are expanding their growing empire. The team currently owns Mexican restaurant Oso, bar and event space Lucille's, and take-out spot Pizza By Lucille's next door.
According to Newsweek, Trebeck's daughter Emily has a successful real estate career, which she says was inspired by her dad. After graduating from Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles in 2015, Emily purchased and flipped her first house! In a 2017 interview, the youngest Trebek confessed to Jeopardy.com: "I have always been interested in homes. After graduating, I decided to get into real estate."
