Nikki Bella Reveals What Ex John Cena Did After She Gave Birth

So much has changed in the two years since pro wrestling couple Nikki Bella and John Cena called off their wedding for a second time. The former pair made two attempts to head to the altar, both ending in heartbreak. The first breakup occurred in April 2018, two months before the couple was set to wed in Mexico. A source told People at the time that "Nikki and John wanted different things," and she really wanted kids. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Cena revealed he wasn't interested in raising a family, which became a significant issue.

Despite those differences, Us Weekly reported the couple reunited in May 2018 and a spokesperson said, "Nikki and John are working on their relationship and taking it day by day. They appreciate all of their fans and their continued support." With the wedding back on, all seemed well until, according to People, Cena failed to show up for an appointment at their Napa, Calif. wedding venue, which caused Bella to reevaluate everything and once again break off their engagement.

Hitting the fast-forward button, a little over one year later, Bella became engaged to ex-DWTS pro Artem Chigvintsev in November 2019, per Page Six. Then, in August 2020, Bella announced she had given birth to a son via an Instagram post. She wrote, "7/31/2020 Our baby boy is here and we couldn't be HAPPIER and more in LOVE! Everyone is safe and healthy."

So, how did John Cena respond to Nikki Bella's baby news? Keep scrolling to find out.

John Cena gave Nikki Bella a different kind of ring after giving birth

Despite Nikki Bella and John Cena's falling-out, the couple did remain friends. In an interview with People in late 2019 (via E! News), Bella revealed of Cena, "I let him know everything. He's known every date I've been on. I have so much respect for him. And this breakup... it didn't end bad, we didn't do bad things to each other. He's still close with my family. Anything I knew was coming out, anything that I've done, I let him know just because I don't want him to ever be hurt by it or shocked by it."

The both had moved on, with Cena marrying his girlfriend of almost two years, Shay Shariatzadeh, in March of 2020, Us Weekly reported. It is nice to see that both were able to find love after their fraught relationship came to an end. With the two being on friendly terms, it wasn't surprising that John Cena reached out to Bella and her sister Brie (who gave birth to a son one day later, per Page Six) to congratulate them. Bella told Us Weekly, "So with the baby, he reached out to Brie and I both. We haven't had an individual conversation in gosh, I don't know how long, but it was very short and sweet!"
