The Real Reason Michael B. Jordan Says He's Joining OnlyFans

People named Michael B. Jordan as 2020's Sexiest Man Alive in November. As a result, people want to see even more from the actor, which is nothing new for his most devoted supporters. So it's probably safe to say Jordan's biggest fans will be happy to know that the Friday Night Lights alum wants to start an OnlyFans account, as he revealed during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

According to Influencer Marketing Hub, "OnlyFans is a subscription site that lets content creators monetize their influence." The content creators get the protection of a paywall guarding their content, and they receive monthly fees from their fans (as well as one-off tips from generous customers, if they're lucky). As for fans, they receive exclusive access to content.

No shade intended, but OnlyFans is arguably not a platform that's typically associated with A-list celebrities. For the most part, the site's content creators are reality TV stars and social media influencers looking for another stream of revenue. So, why is Jordan, who presumably isn't hurting for cash (his net worth is $25 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth), joining OnlyFans? As it turns out, he has a pretty noble reason for creating an account.

Michael B. Jordan wants to lend a helping hand

Michael B. Jordan revealed his plans for an OnlyFans account during a November 2020 conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, sharing, "[I'm actually going to start [an OnlyFans account], but like all the proceeds I want to go towards a barber school because during the quarantine, you know, there's been so many businesses and schools that shut down."

As for what the Hardball star plans to share with fans? Well, it might have something to do with his hair. "I never had time to actually sit in one place and grow my facial hair where I didn't have to get it groomed, or manicured, or anything like that," he explained to Kimmel about his grooming routine during the pandemic. The actor has so much facial hair, that he gave it a name, referring to it as "Murphy." Jordan explained, "During quarantine, I just wanted to see how much hair I could actually grow." If he made an OnlyFans account, it would be dedicated to "Murphy," presumably meaning that he would have a lot of beard content for his subscribers.

So although Jordan's OnlyFans account plan might be a surprise, his generous and kind nature is not. "My dad manages a food bank and I grew up around that, watching service, going to food pantries and homeless shelters, and just helping out around my community as much as I could," he told Insider in November 2018 about supporting another charitable cause, Feeding America. Talk about a standup guy!
