Here's Who Will Take Chelsea Houska's Spot On Teen Mom 2
Big changes are coming for Teen Mom 2. The MTV franchise, which gave us national treasures like Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans, is losing a familiar face and gaining a new gal!
Chelsea Houska and her husband, Cole DeBoer, announced on Nov. 10, 2020, that they were leaving the franchise via an Instagram post. "MTV's Teen Mom 2 has been a big part of my life for almost 11 years. After much thought and discussion with my family and friends, Cole and I have decided that this season will be our last," Chelsea said.
Chelsea first appeared on MTV in 2009 on 16 and Pregnant, where she carried and gave birth to her daughter, Aubree, shared with ex-boyfriend Adam Lind, according to People. Then in 2011, she joined Teen Mom 2 and has been a vital part of the series since. While the show won't be the same without Chelsea and her lovable family, her new replacement has been announced and she's going to be a great fit!
Ashley Jones already low-key shaded longterm Teen Mom 2 stars on Instagram
Chelsea Houska may be leaving MTV's Teen Mom 2, but her replacement also comes from an MTV background. Ashley Jones will be stepping up, according to People, and she made her debut on MTV's Teen Mom: Young + Pregnant in 2018.
Ashley shares daughter Holly with Bariki Smith, with whom she's had an on-and-off relationship, per the outlet. However, in late November 2020, Bariki announced on Instagram that he and Ashley were engaged with the cute caption: "I'm marrying her y'all."
Ashley announced her Teen Mom 2 gig on Instagram on Dec. 5, 2020, with a selfie and the caption: "About to make teen mom 2 watchable again." Dang! We'll have to wait and see how the longterm stars like Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry, Briana DeJesus, and Jade Cline feel about comments like that!
Fun fact: Jade is also an alum of Young + Pregnant and was chosen as Jenelle Evans' replacement on Teen Mom 2 in 2019, according to The Ashley's Reality Roundup, so it's obviously a successful transition. Can't wait to see what kind of drama Ashley brings to the show!
