Kim Kardashian's Concierge Gives New Robbery Details

The concierge working at the Hôtel de Pourtalès the night Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint believes the bandits were after cold hard cash, not jewelry.

The concierge, Abdulrahman (who prefers to only be identified by his first name for security purposes), told Entertainment Tonight, "They weren't there for jewels at first, they were there for money." Abdulrahman claims the robbers weren't interested in Kardashian's diamonds or cell phones when she tried to offer them. "[The robber] said, 'I don't need phones' in French, [but] he doesn't understand English, and also she didn't understand French. The guy was asking for 'money, money, money.' She believed that they were there for her ring...she gave her ring to the guy...and he put it in his pocket."

Abdulrahman suggested the money motive may be why some jewels fell out of the robbers' bags. "He put the jewels in his [backpack] and he left the bag open, that is why he lost some jewels and the gold in the hotel," he said. "[The robber kept asking] 'Where is money, money, money?' For him, it was just a ring, I think. He didn't stop asking for money."

The concierge, who was a key witness in the case, previously blamed the hotel's lack of security measures for the robbery. "There was no real security at all. It's a choice," he told the Daily Mail. "The hotel doesn't mind about security. We told them years and years before, you have to make a camera, you have to put [in place] a security process, about keys. Nothing was locked, there was no proper security there."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, authorities believe the robbery may have been an inside job. Kardashian has beefed up her personal security accordingly, with extra guards everywhere she goes, as she resumes filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
