Inside Riverdale Star Casey Cott's Engagement
As 2020 draws to a close, we are left to think about all the Hollywood relationships that did not survive. This year alone, Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty, Jason Sudekis and Oliva Wilde, and Demi Lavato and Max Ehrich called it quits. Maybe it was the pressure of the nationwide coronavirus lockdowns or the seemingly never-ending Mercury retrograde, but 2020 was not the year for love — and it was a particularly rough year for the cast of Riverdale.
Fans were devastated when news of Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart's split hit the stands. Reinhart and Sprouse played on-screen lovers in the televised reimagining of the classic Archie comics. Their co-star Madelaine Petsch also split from her longtime boyfriend Travis Mills in early 2020, per Cheat Sheet. Things probably sound a little grim, but we are happy to report that it is not all heartbreak on the set of Riverdale.
Casey Cott, who plays Kevin Keller on the hit CW drama, popped the question to his long time girlfriend in December 2020, closing out a pretty sad year on a high note. Read on for deets about the engagement.
Casey Cott's Riverdale co-stars are so excited for him
Casey Cott announced his engagement via an Instagram post on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020. The photo (pictured above) was captioned with three ring emojis. The cast of Riverdale is currently all together filming the upcoming season in Vancouver, Canada.
Cott is extremely guarded about his personal life, so much so that his fiancée's name is not known publicly, per People. Nonetheless, his co-stars were quick to congratulate him on the happy news. "So happy for you two," Camila Mendes wrote. "I'm so happy about this [heart eyes emoji]" wrote Madelaine Petsch. "So happppppyyyyyyyyyyy for you two [heart emojis]," added Vanessa Morgan.
Finally, former soap opera star Kelly Ripa stepped in to sum up everyone's feelings about 2020. The longtime TV host does not play a role in Riverdale, but her husband Mark Consuelos does. Mark plays Hiram Lodge, one of the series' main antagonists. "At last some good news," Ripa wrote in the comment section. As for any details about the wedding, unfortunately, Cott is staying mum. We cannot tell you when and where it will be, but perhaps one day we will be able to reveal his fiancées name.
