Southern Charm: Austen Kroll's Cheating Scandal Explained

Southern Charm fans' jaws dropped to the floor during the Season 6 premiere when Bravo aired footage of Austen Kroll in a compromising situation the morning after what appeared to be a wild night out with not only one but two unidentified ladies. But that's just the very tip of the iceberg. At one point in the footage, Kroll's girlfriend suddenly appears looking shocked and outraged when she discovers Austen entertaining said mystery ladies in the wee hours of the morning. The kicker? Austen is dressed in nothing but his undies. Cue the expletive-filled rage that ensued as Austen tried to talk his way out of an extremely precarious situation. And that is how the Bravosphere was introduced to Austen's on-again-off-again girlfriend, Madison LeCroy.

But what did Southern Charmer Austen have to say about the debacle? And better yet — what did then-newcomer Madison have to say about it? Keep on reading after the jump to find out!

Madison LeCroy dished it right back to Austen Kroll

During a May 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Austen Kroll took his best swing at explaining the alleged cheating scandal that ultimately went viral. "So, I guess what I can say is that was very early on [in our relationship]," Austen revealed. "[That was] Madison and I trying to figure out what we were. We both hadn't done the, you know, 'you're my girlfriend, and you're my boyfriend' talk, right?"

He also explained that Madison showing up unannounced at his apartment was the two of them basically playing games with one another before she ultimately decided she wanted to talk things out. "So, I busied myself and it didn't turn out so well," he explained. "Because she showed up the next day and was like, 'Wait! I want to talk things over." Ruh-roh... However, Austen still maintains that he has no idea what exactly transpired during the night of debauchery and that his initial reaction to being caught quite literally with his pants down was a resounding "s***!" He added, "I was out of my mind. I had no clue."

Madison was seemingly happy to accept that explanation and to employ a bit of revenge. During an episode of Watch What Happens Live, Madison told host Andy Cohen, "I said, 'Well, it looks to me like [a] hall pass. I can do whatever.'" Considering Austen and Madison are broken up, it's probably safe to say this little arrangement wasn't sustainable in the long run.
