The Tragic Death Of Food Network Star Kerry Vincent

Food Network's Kerry Vincent sadly passed away on Jan. 2, 2020. The Australian baker had made a name for herself in the food entertainment world thanks to her unique techniques in sugar-craft and signature cake recipes. According to her Food Network bio, the master sugar artist had a long list of accomplishment and  "was inducted into the International Cake Exploration Societé Hall of Fame in 2004, and then the Dessert Professional Hall of Fame in 2010." Vincent's bio also states that, along with her many awards, she was also the co-founder of the non-profit the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show and founder of the Grand National Wedding Cake Competition.

Nicknamed the "Queen of Cakes," Vincent was best known by fans as a judge on the Food Network Challenge from 2006 to 2012 and later hosting Save My Bakery in 2014. (via Vanity Fair)

The news of the beloved Food Network star's death came as a shock to fans, as Vincent was only 75 years old and seemed to be in good health.

Food Network's Kerry Vincent was battling an undisclosed illness

The Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show, the non-profit which Kerry Vincent co-founded, was the first to announce the shocking news of the Food Network star's death via Facebook. The organization posted to the social media platform, revealing that the Aussie baker suffered from an illness and had passed away just a day after the new year began.

"It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of Kerry Vincent earlier this evening," they wrote. "Being a very private person when it came to all things not cake, she did not want to put her illness out there to the public. Unfortunately her fight has come to an end but she will no longer have any pain. She will be sorely missed by all who she has touched through the Sugar Arts as will as personally. There will be no services per her request. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers."

Food Network fans will definitely miss Vincent's no-nonsense approach to speaking her mind and tough-love judging, which was seen on Food Network Challenge. Vincent was a talented baker and sugar artist whose legacy we hope will live on through other aspiring bakers.
