Let's face it, divorces can get really nasty very fast. So with celebrities and their millions of dollars on the line, they clearly want the best of the best when it comes to lawyers. That's where Laura Wasser comes in. The Los Angeles native has assisted in some of the most high-profile cases since the late '90s. 

Back in 2016, the award-winning lawyer represented Johnny Depp during his turbulent separation from Amber Heard, according to TMZ. Wasser also represented Angelina Jolie during her divorce from Brad Pitt, which must've been the best choice as the mother-of-six has full custody of their children, per Entertainment Tonight. Lest we forget when the star lawyer also helped Anna Faris separate from ex-husband Chris Pratt, though their separation was much more amicable in the end. 

Wasser is so well-known in the divorce world that she's widely believed to have inspired Laura Dern's Oscar-winning character in the 2019 movie, Marriage Story. According to Town & Country, Wasser modestly claimed she was just one of many attorneys that helped shape Dern's role. Still, she's got quite the reputation.

Laura Wasser is reportedly representing Kim Kardashian-West in her potential divorce

On Jan. 5, 2020, rumors swirled that Kim Kardashian-West was potentially separating from her husband of six years, Kanye West. Although divorce paperwork has yet to be filed in their home state of California, according to Page Six, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has reportedly hired celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser.

A source told the media outlet, "They are keeping it low-key but they are done. Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks. Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She's done."

The source also revealed Kardashian's desire to pursue a legal career. "She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign," shared the source. "Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s**t, and she's just had enough of it."

As of the writing this article, there have been no official statements released from either party. However, if the rumors are true, fans will hear from Wasser herself soon enough.
