Lady Gaga Opens Up About Split From Taylor Kinney

Lady Gaga opened up about her July 2016 split from actor Taylor Kinney, and from the sounds of it, the Chicago Fire star may have felt emasculated by her success.

"I think women love very hard," she told CBS This Morning. "We love men. We just love with everything we have. Sometimes I don't know that that love is met with the type of dignity that we wish it would be met with. You know, we're not trying to make you less of a man. We just want you to love us as deeply and as wholesomely and as fully as we love you."

A source previously told Page Six there was some hope for the couple to reconcile. "They are still in constant communication. Yes, they are on a break, but they hope they can work things out. They still have a really deep love and respect for each other," the insider said, noting that they called off their engagement because they were both too busy with their careers. "They realized they needed a break when she started working on her album. He started shooting the show [Chicago Fire] and they weren't spending as much time together," the source said. "They stopped seeing each other so much and they drifted apart."

Shortly after the breakup, Gaga posted on Instagram, "Taylor and I always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."

A source told Page Six that Kinney has been quietly dating Philadelphia hospital worker Alanna DiGiovanni for a few months, noting, "Alanna is head over heels."
