In light of Britney Spears' new documentary and the speculation around it, the singer's boyfriend, Sam Asghari, is speaking out. "I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," Asghari told People. The Family Business actor also thanked fans for their "love and support" and expressed that he is "looking forward to a normal, amazing future" with Spears.
Spears and Asghari first met in 2016 on the set of the singer's "Slumber Party" music video and started dating shortly after, according to Us Weekly. The couple has been going strong ever since, and though they keep their relationship relatively private, the duo occasionally shares sweet Instagram posts about one another. Now, however, Asghari is using Instagram for a different reason: to blast Spears' father, Jamie Spears.

In an Instagram story posted on Feb. 9, 2021, Sam Asghari broke his silence about Britney Spears' father, Jamie Spears. "It's important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way," Asghari alleged in his post. He doesn't hold back from there, going on to say that, in his opinion, "Jamie is a total d*ck." The actor adds that he doesn't want to go into more details because he has always "respected" his and Spears' privacy and says that he "didn't come to this country to not be able to express [his] opinion and freedom." Well, it doesn't get much more honest than that.
Jamie Spears has maintained a conservatorship over Britney Spears since 2008, and according to Us Weekly, he's not looking to step down anytime soon. Spears' conservatorship has been a hot topic amongst the #FreeBritney movement, with fans and celebrities calling for Jamie's removal from the position. Now, upon the release of Framing Britney Spears, more celebs and fans are calling for the pop star's freedom from her father — and, based on his Instagram story, it's safe to say that Asghari feels the same.
