Royal Expert Has A Theory About Meghan And Harry's Wink To Princess Diana

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who just announced they have another baby on the way, have proven that they are marching to the beat of their own drum as a family, as seen when they stepped away from their royal duties and moved to California to live life on their own terms.

But that does not mean they are leaving the past behind — especially Harry's. Besides wanting to raise their family away from the media spotlight, Harry and Meghan made this massive lifestyle switch to spend more time focusing on their foundation, Archewell, following in the late Princess Diana's footsteps as committed philanthropists dedicated to tackling mental health issues. There is even a photo of Diana carrying Harry on the website's homepage.

Of course, there have been other nods to Diana over the years, including Meghan's fashion choices, per Elle, and Harry using diamonds that once belonged to Diana to create Meghan's engagement ring, according to Brides. But fans have picked up on yet another wink to Diana that may hold a major meaning. Keep reading to find out the underlying meaning of Harry and Meghan's pregnancy announcement.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's holiday announcement may be a hint

Eagle-eyed fans of the British royal family were quick to point out that the timing of Prince Harry and Megan Markle's second pregnancy announcement on Valentine's Day 2021 coincides with another important date: when Prince Charles and Princess Diana announced Harry's impending birth. That news broke on Feb. 13, 1984, just in time to make Valentine's Day headlines 37 years ago — to the day.

But there is potentially more to the story, according to Kinsey Schofield, creator of the British royal family website ToDiForDaily.com. "Prince Harry was Princess Diana's heart and Diana described the months leading up to his birth as blissful with Prince Charles," Schofield told Nicki Swift. "If the baby is a girl, expect them to name her after the Princess of Wales."

If Schofield is correct, Archie might soon have a baby sister named Diana to look after — and Harry will have another way to keep the memory of his beloved mother in his life.
