Jackie Goldschneider's Comments About Gia Giudice Are Causing A Stir

The stars of The Real Housewives of New Jersey are no strangers to explosive fights or controversy, but Jackie Goldschneider may have taken it a step too far in her comment about co-star Theresa Giudice's daughter Gia Giudice. At the very least, current and former New Jersey Housewives, fans on social media, and Gia herself have called out the reality star for crossing a line, per Page Six.

Jackie, who is a writer and former lawyer, joined the cast of the show in 2018 for Season 9. Two years later, the drama is still white-hot in Season 11, with Jackie and Theresa already getting into it in just the first episode. Jackie's been dealing with rumors that her husband has been cheating on her. Things got heated when Jackie attempted to confront Theresa — who has apparently been repeating the rumors — about why that was so hurtful to her. But her choice of phrasing was, let's say, unfortunate.

Jackie is being called to apologize

In the premiere episode of Season 11 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jackie Goldschneider tries to get Theresa Giudice to publicly retract comments suggesting Jackie's husband had been cheating. The conversation doesn't exactly go well.

Attempting to explain herself, Teresa says, "I didn't spread a rumor, I heard a rumor." To which Jackie responds, referring to Teresa's 20-year-old daughter, "OK, well, you know what? I heard a rumor that Gia snorts coke in the bathroom at parties."

While Jackie says she was simply making an analogy to try and make her point, Teresa was understandably livid, and costars and fans alike agree that bringing up Gia in that context was out of line.

"My analogy about Gia was simply an analogy – there was no truth to it of course," Jackie tweeted in explanation. In a statement posted to her social media accounts, Teresa called the comment "inconceivable," while former Real Housewife Dina Manzo wrote on Instagram, "A Grown woman should not use that analogy about a minor EVER," and called for Jackie to apologize.

For her part, Gia made a statement of her own on Twitter, writing, "Saying it was an analogy is making it excusable, it's not. My character is now being questioned. My name was used to make a point. No one should be used in that way, I am suffering the consequences for such an outlandish and untrue statement. While her marriage is happy & in tact."
