90 Day Fiance's Tim And Melyza Surprise Fans With Big Announcement
Congratulations are in order for Tim Clarkson and Melyza Zeta! While the 90 Day Fiancé couple was in Melyza's home country of Colombia, Tim asked her to marry him, and she said yes.
"Before Tim proposed, I was feeling completely hopeless and crushed," Melyza told People in an interview published March 7, 2021. "I believed that my chance at happily ever after with the man I love was gone. Fortunately, I was wrong."
Fans will remember that the couple had broken up prior to getting engaged, but they have since realized they want to spend the rest of their lives together. The news is still a surprise, though — as recently as January 2021, the couple had confirmed their breakup. In a now-deleted Instagram post from November 2020, Melyza had shared a cryptic caption about being "happier" on her own, per InTouch Weekly. But these days, she and Tim are happier when they are together, and they are willing to leave the past in the past.
Infidelity caused trouble for Melyza and Tim
Tim shared on 90 Day Fiancé that he had cheated on Melyza while they were long-distance, per CheatSheet. And he told Entertainment Tonight in June 2020 that his actions had "made her more hesitant with moving to the United States permanently." Now, though, the couple is ready to leave the infidelity in the past and focus on their future.
"Before our proposal, I felt like I was just trying to move on from what felt right for me and my life. I thought the 'right' thing to do was try to move on, and the distance was killing me," Tim said to People. "I know we still have a long way to go for repairing the damage I have done, but we both know how much we love each other, how comfortable we are with each other, and how positive we are that our life together will be amazing."
Melyza shared three engagement photos of her and Tim on Instagram on March 7, 2021; the gallery is currently her only Instagram post. Clearly, the couple is ready to move on and bask in their relationship's second-chance happy ending.
