Who Is CeCe Winans' Husband, Alvin Love II?
If you're a fan of gospel music, then you're likely already well aware of CeCe Winans, one of the most formidable names in the industry. That might still be a bit of an understatement as Winans is the best-selling female gospel artist of all time, according to her official website.
As of this writing, Winans has an impressive 12 Grammys, and more than 20 Dove Awards. More important to Winans than the awards or the record sales, however, is her faith. Faith plays such a prominent role in Winans' life that she is the co-pastor of the Nashville Life Church in Nashville, Tenn. You might say that in addition to being a musical legend, Winans is also something of a celebrity pastor. "You really have a choice: You can pull out the best or the worst," Winans told The Tennessean when speaking about balancing her role as a pastor with her role as a gospel star in 2021. "Being a pastor of a very diverse church, we had to learn a new level of respect, and being able to agree to disagree, and have conversations."
Winans isn't the only pastor of the Nashville Life Church, though. She co-pastors with her husband, Alvin Love II. Read on to find out everything you need to know about the gospel superstar's other half.
Alvin Love II wants to spread the love
With a name like Alvin Love II, it's no surprise that CeCe Winans' husband is all about romance. While Winans is busy breaking records and winning gospel awards, Love has been a constant at her side in their church, the Nashville Life Church, where he serves as a co-pastor. The pair reportedly met at a bowling alley in Detroit when they were teenagers and have been inseparable ever since. In the intervening years, Love became passionate about helping others find the kind of contentment and security he found with Winans all those years ago.
In 2017, he and Winans came up with the idea of setting up their single parishioners. Their plan turned out to be more successful than they could have ever hoped. "My husband has married, oh, I don't know how many people," Winans told The Tennessean in 2017. "Now we're having a lot of babies at Nashville Life." Love is very invested in making lifelong matches among his congregants. In the same article, one man shared a story about meeting his now wife at church and initially being uninterested, but Love saw something he couldn't. "Pastor Alvin was coming to me every few weeks and asking me why I wasn't asking her out," the man shared.
Now he's a happily married father of one. Moral of the story? If you're single in the Nashville area, call Pastor Love.
