The Truth About Ervin From Married At First Sight: Unmatchables

There's a new show for fans of the Lifetime hit "Married at First Sight." The "Married at First Sight: Unmatchables" spinoff is a twist on the original show and will follow those who are reportedly too difficult to match, according to the network. Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Viviana Coles will be on hand to guide the new singles as they (hopefully) find their happily ever after.

"Everyone deserves a chance at love, so the new series helps polish up the diamonds in the rough, providing them with strong relationship advice and a lifestyle overhaul to give them an opportunity to shed what's been stalling real romantic connections in their lives," according to Lifetime's description of the series. "In each self-contained episode, Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Viviana Coles will mentor two unlucky-in-love singles who simply couldn't be matched previously and follow as they go through their physical and personal transformations, as they are set up on a date to see if love is in the air and if they have truly found their match."

More than 65,000 people have applied to be on the original show during its 12-season run, but who will we meet on the spinoff? Keep reading for more details about a new cast member.

Ervin is a runaway groom

According to Reality TV World, Ervin is a 37-year-old fitness trainer with four broken engagements. The site also details his apparent issues with conflict resolution: "At first signs of trouble, he cuts and runs." His lack of commitment could explain his possible trust issues — and ending four engagements before the age of 40 does not put Ervin in the best light.

Also, Ervin's obsession with a healthy lifestyle is reportedly so intense that he has no idea just how unhealthy his dating habits really are. A fit physique is great, but more time in the gym could mean less time for dating. Ervin seems like a lost cause, but Pastor Calvin Roberson is determined to turn Ervin's dating life around. "We had to pull the big guns on him," he told the New York Post.

Roberson said the process is not without its challenges and dating does not come easy to everyone. "With a lot of these makeovers, we're trying to get people accustomed to making a great first impression," he said. "Because, believe it or not, there's an art to dating, an art to presenting yourself." But will Ervin be able to master said art? Tune in to find out!
