Prince Charles Takes Over Another One Of Prince Andrew's Duties
Prince Charles and Prince Andrew do not seem to have the best relationship. The brothers have been feuding since accusations around Andrew's association with the late Jeffrey Epstein came into light after he sat down for an interview with BBC in November 2019.
Due to Andrew's rumored friendship with Epstein, he was reportedly pushed out of many responsibilities in the royal family, according to The Blast. He released a statement following the interview (via Town & Country): "I have asked Her Majesty if I may step back from public duties for the foreseeable future, and she has given her permission." He added, "I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein."
Andrew allegedly never "mixed" with his siblings and his feud with Charles only intensified in 2012 after rumors swirled that his brother wanted to "slim down the monarchy," per The Blast. In March 2019, Andrew was noticeably absent from a party marking Charles' 50th anniversary of his investiture as the Prince of Wales, according to Marie Claire U.K. There was reportedly no reason for his absence, and it was seen as a "naked display of hostility" between the brothers.

Prince Charles is now the royal patron of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
Prince Charles is now the royal patron of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Prince Andrews' former duties, according to People. The organization seemed thrilled to have Charles at the helm and released a statement: "The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is delighted to announce that The Prince of Wales has accepted an invitation to become the Orchestra's Patron. The Prince of Wales has a life-long association with the Arts. During the pandemic His Royal Highness spoke about the importance of protecting the Arts, stressing their enormous importance to life in the UK and to the economy."
This is the second patronage Charles is taking over from his brother. In November 2020, he became patron of York Minster cathedral, but there was no official announcement. The royal family's website updated their list of patronages, and it appears they wanted to keep this matter out of the spotlight.
Although Charles and Andrew appeared in their father Prince Philip's funeral procession on April 17, it does not appear they will mend their relationship anytime soon.
