RHOA's Falynn Guobadia Reacts To Porsha's Controversial Engagement

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Porsha Williams made jaws drop with her May 10 Instagram announcement that she was now engaged to "RHOA" co-star Falynn Guobadia's ex-husband, Simon Guobadia. The obvious question arose — since Falynn and Simon filed for divorce mere months ago in January — as to whether Porsha had any involvement. Putting this to rest, the reality star anticipatorily wrote in her post, "I get the optics but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing." Elaborating that she and Falynn don't run in the same social circles, Porsha characterized the ex-couple's drama as, simply, "between them."

Having had a famed off-and-on-again relationship with her own ex-fiancé, Dennis McKinley, Porsha also noted in her joyous announcement that both Simon and Dennis were, luckily, committed to co-parenting her son, PJ, with McKinley. "Two black men stepping up and being amazing people-let's praise them!!!!" she glowingly praised. This leaves the one question — how does Falynn feel about her ex-husband's engagement? Keep reading for her first public take on Porsha's engagement since the big news broke.

Falynn Guobadia is 'healing' in light of ex-husband's engagement to Porsha Williams

Given Falynn Guobadia's April announcement of her divorce from Simon Guobadia (via BET), the world waited for her reaction to May's news of Simon's engagement to Falynn's "Real Housewives of Atlanta" co-star Porsha Williams. Well, it seems Falynn is staying cool and composed — if not exactly cheerful — given the announcement. Falynn said in her official statement, via People, on May 11, "I want to thank everyone for reaching out to me and offering their love and support. At this time, I am focusing on finalizing my divorce and healing. Sending positivity to all of you."

Falynn and Simon announced via their respective Instagrams (per BET) in April that they had gone their separate ways. Per Porsha's May engagement news, however, on her own Instagram, the ex-couple had filed for divorce already "in January." Falynn even addressed rumors of a split prior to their April announcement with "The Jasmine Brand" on March 31 after it was reported the pair had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Falynn denied all breakup talk, saying, "That rumor came from a miserable person. We go through our marital issues... Whether we unfollow and we follow back and we delete our stuff... just let us go through our stuff."

Sadly, the rumors proved right, but we do hope Falynn is handling the divorce — and Simon and Porsha's ensuing engagement — as calmly as she sounds!
