90 Day Fiance: Inside Andrei's Rocky Relationship With Elizabeth's Dad
Relationships can be tricky, and usually none more so than with in-laws. That's something Andrei Castravet has learned firsthand in his relationship with his wife Elizabeth Potthast Castravet's father. Sometimes, however, those issues are taken to the extreme, especially when played out on television for the whole world to see.
As a huge star of "90 Day Fiance," the original show from TLC that started the "90 Day Fiance" franchise craze, Andrei is no stranger to putting his personal life on TV, but is it all for show, or is there some truth behind the good and the downright ugly? Production aside, it's hard to believe that only the best of times would shine through, and sometimes real life is just that — living in the moment and forgetting the consequences and the cameras.
So, just in case there's someone out there who hasn't seen "90 Day Fiance," here is a look at those parts that make up Andrei's rocky relationship with his wife's father.
Andrei resisted joining the family business
Elizabeth Potthast Castravet's father and Elizabeth herself both work in real estate, turning homes and properties into a family business that is booming, despite obvious setbacks from the pandemic. In the past, Andrei has resisted joining the family business, even after asking for a $100,000 loan from his father-in-law, Chuck Potthast.
To say Chuck was less than impressed would be an understatement, according to Us Weekly. As for Andrei's perspective on the whole deal, he was not interested in anything but the money. "I said that I want money. I didn't say I'm going to work with them," Andrei added. "All I need is [the] check."
Andrei has certainly garnered a fanbase from his Season 5 stint on "90 Day Fiance," but there are plenty of people who watch the show and its numerous spin-offs to see couples fail, just as much as those who watch for relationship successes. And Andrei has plenty of haters as well, stemming mostly from his ongoing unemployed status.
Still, the tide could be changing as Andrei recently got his real estate license and is hoping to flip some houses for a profit while learning the ropes of selling homes. While Andrei and Elizabeth are certainly a controversial couple on the spin-off "90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?", it seems that their relationship remains strong, and hopefully, with Andrei's real estate license coming through, it'll keep them financially more stable as well.
