How Much Was Mayberry R.F.D. Star Arlene Golonka Worth?

On the heels of actor Arlene Golonka's tragic death due to Alzheimers, many are once again clamoring to know more about the effervescent actor.

The Chicago native is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Millie on "The Andy Griffith Show" and its spinoff series "Mayberry R.F.D.," but rest assured, those weren't her only gigs. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Golonka, who was educated at Goodman Theatre, got her start in showbiz on Broadway, appearing in "Take Me Along," "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," and "Come Blow Your Horn."

It's also reported by Wide Open Country, that during her time on Broadway, she studied under theater greats Sanford Meisner, Uta Hagen, and Lee Strasberg. After that, it was only onward and upward for the budding thespian as she snagged guest starring roles on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "M*A*S*H," and "All in the Family."

But just how much moolah did the late actor amass during her successful career? Keep reading to find out!

Arlene Golonka amassed an impressive net worth

As reported by Celebrity Net Worth, the late Arlene Golonka was worth an impressive $5 million at the time of her death on May 31, 2021. Alas, it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for the aspiring actor.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Golonka worked very hard in her early days as she climbed her way to the top, including taking on less-than-glamorous waitressing jobs in New York City before snagging parts on Broadway. It's also reported that she shared one apartment with four other women. Tight quarters, for sure!

Fortunately, it appears all of the hard work and sacrifice eventually paid off as Golonka carved out a lucrative career for herself including roles in film projects such as "The Busy Body," "Welcome to Hard Times," "Airport '77," "The Last Married Couple in America," "My Tutor," and "The End of Innocence."

Our deepest condolences go out to Golonka's friends and family during this difficult time.
