Vanessa Hudgens Talks Long-Distance Romance With Austin Butler

Vanessa Hudgens doesn't let distance get in the way of her relationship to boyfriend Austin Butler–even if the two do live an entire ocean away from one another.

On March 22, 2017 at the Bubble Witch 3 Saga launch in New York City, the Spring Breakers (2012) actress told People magazine how she deals with her long-distance relationship.

"Just communication, communication is key," the 28-year-old, who was first spotted with Butler, 25, in Sept. 2011, said.

"I think that if anything's bothering you, don't hold it in. Always bring it up and just talk about it. Uncensor yourself and just be open," she continued, offering advice to others in similar situations.

Hudgens' S.O. is currently off in New Zealand, filming a second season of the MTV show The Shannara Chronicles (2016-). She noted Butler's absence on social media, sharing a photo of the two kissing on Instagram. "Missing this guy. #mcm #longdistancesucks," she wrote alongside the image.

Luckily, Hudgens, who'd previously dated High School Musical (2006) co-star Zac Efron, has her work to distract her. She stars in Powerless (2017-), a new show on NBC which centers around the everyday non-super people in the D.C. universe.

Unfortunately for Disney Channel fans though, the actress revealed to E! News that she has no plans to appear in the forthcoming High School Musical 4 movie. Darn.
