Selena Gomez Had Her First Kiss With This Sprouse Twin
Selena Gomez is one of the most desirable women in Hollywood. She can act, sing, and dance — all the while looking good while doing it. The "Only Murders in the Building" actor has been in the industry since she was a child, landing her first gig on "Barney" at seven years old (via People). Like many children her age, Gomez also had a crush on the guy in the big purple dinosaur costume.
"He was [hot]. Very much so," Gomez revealed in an interview with BBC Radio 1 in 2018. "You have to be very fit to do that because it's 50 pounds of costumes. So he'd take it off and he'd have his muscles and he's sweating and we're like, 'Okay, we are children,' but it was great."
After Barney, Gomez went onto be an even bigger star on the Disney Channel and had her first kiss with one of the Sprouse twins. Find out which twin she kissed below.
Selena Gomez liked one Sprouse twin more than the other
While many fans would give anything to kiss a Sprouse twin, Selena Gomez wasn't feeling it with Dylan Sprouse. The Rare Beauty founder revealed that she used to have a massive crush on Cole Sprouse, but when she had the opportunity to act opposite him on his show in 2006, producers had her kiss his twin brother instead.
"Cole Sprouse was on '[The] Suite Life of Zack & Cody' and I was obsessed with that show and I thought we were gonna be together one day," Gomez said of Cole on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," in March 2020. "Then I guest-starred on the show but I kissed his brother and I didn't get to kiss Cole."
Gomez said that she was even more disappointed because she had never kissed anyone before and they had to do it in front of dozens of people. "It was my first kiss," she said, adding with a laugh, "It was one of the worst days of my life."
Despite her disappointment, the Sprouse twins had no hard feelings towards Gomez.
The Sprouse twins joked about Selena Gomez's first kiss
Selena Gomez may not have had the best time kissing Dylan Sprouse, but he and brother Cole didn't seem to mind the shade. Teen Vogue reported that when Gomez's interview went viral, Cole roasted Dylan on Instagram by posting a comment about the story. "I can safely say I've never had a girl say this about me," he wrote. Brotherly love — always poking fun at each other.
Dylan, however, took things further when he mocked himself after he tweeted a picture from the Daily Mail of him as a kid, next to Gomez's grown up self. "Yo get that pic of him in the fedora to really sell the message," the actor tweeted.
All jokes aside, Dylan didn't mind Gomez airing out her true feelings, because he also didn't think he was a good kisser. "There's a lot of sad, depressing first kiss stories...I wasn't very successful with women for a long time." he said to Young Hollywood.
Hey, not everyone is a good kisser on their first try. But also, not everyone gets to kiss Gomez, so Dylan was one of the lucky ones.
