Everything We Know About Kelly Clarkson's New Music Plans
It's been four years since Kelly Clarkson dropped a new album, but it appears fans won't have to wait that much longer. The "My Life Would Suck Without You" hitmaker, however, has been very busy pursuing a career in television. Aside from being a coach on NBC's "The Voice," she has also been enjoying life as a daytime host on her own talk show "The Kelly Clarkson Show."
As previously reported by Nicki Swift, the Grammy award-winner recently made headlines after an inside source told OK! she was putting her music on the sideline to further her occupation on television. "Something's got to give, and it looks like it will be her singing career," they said, adding, "Kelly's pretty savvy. She figures it would be a miracle if she's still hitting the charts in 20 years, but she can totally imagine herself with a hit show!"
In 2020, Clarkson released three singles, two of which were Christmas songs. The powerhouse vocalist has been fairly quiet about releasing a new album, but Clarkson did reveal plans to embark upon her first Las Vegas residency, "Invincible," which has yet to begin due to the coronavirus pandemic. Kelly Clarkson has plans to release a second Christmas album
In 2013, Kelly Clarkson released her first Christmas album, "Wrapped In Red," which featured the modern-day classic "Underneath The Tree." According to ChartMasters, the LP was a success and has managed to sell more than 1.2 million copies worldwide.
After releasing a string of festive tunes last year, Clarkson is back with another. The "Since U Been Gone" chart-topper took to Twitter to announce the exciting news, writing, "Y'all know I'm obsessed with Christmas!!! That's why I'm so excited to announce my new single Christmas Isn't Canceled (Just You) is coming out September 23rd!! Pre-save it now!!" In a separate tweet, Clarkson revealed the stunning artwork that shows the star looking incredible in a shimmery gown.
Along with the single "Christmas Isn't Canceled (Just You)," the "UglyDolls" actor is scheduled to drop her second Christmas album this year, too, according to The New York Times. As of this writing, no title or release date has been disclosed. With that being said, this news already has us getting into the festive spirit.
