Inside Aidy Bryant's Marriage To Conner O'Malley

Fans have come to know and love Aidy Bryant from watching her on "Saturday Night Live" over the years, but very few may not know much about her personal life. She married her longtime love Conner O'Malley in 2018 after 10 years together — and as it turns out, it's comedy that brought them together.

The two met in 2008 when they both booked the same show at the Annoyance Theatre in Chicago. "It was the first show I had ever done at that theater and he had been performing there for a long time," she said on "Live with Kelly and Ryan" in 2019. "It's not like your super traditional comedy club, it's a lot more avant-garde and a little closer to performance art. It kind of pushes boundaries. And so, we both performed in a show there one night. Bryant added, "Then it just so happened that we saw each other the next night at a different comedy club, and then he asked for my number and the rest is history."

Aidy Bryant and Conner O'Malley share comedy and have an 'honest' relationship

Aidy Bryant told Bust in 2015 that before meeting Conner O'Malley, she "only had experiences with horrible mind games with men." However, she's grateful for the lessons she learned because it helped her figure out what she didn't want in a relationship. The comedian explained, "I don't want games or manipulation or trying to make each other jealous. I want full, comfortable honesty. And that is really what Conner and I have always had."

The "Saturday Night Live" star is also very realistic about her marriage based on comments made on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" a few years ago. She said on the show in 2017, "We've been together a long time; we've been together almost nine years. So, a lot of the shimmer and shine has faded and we're just living every damn day as best we can." Bryant added that the two have been through a lot together and were in each other's lives during their respective humble beginnings. She continued, "He used to work as a full-blown garbage man — not a joke, just a garbage man. I used to sweep up hair in a barbershop. I mean, we've, like, been through it." Now they're both huge comedy stars and going strong!

They 'definitely' want to start a family soon

Back in early 2020, Aidy Bryant said she and husband Conner O'Malley "definitely" want children, but aren't in a hurry as they're enjoying newlywed life. The producer and star of Hulu's "Shrill" told People, "I definitely want to have kids. My schedule is really busy, but I'm working really hard now to have more space later." She added that family is super important to her, though, and she's gotten very close to O'Malley's familials over the years. "I feel like his family is my family and he feels like my family is his family. So it feels nice to be able to say that more officially," Bryant said. "I love his family so much, and he's really close with my parents and my brother. So, I think part of it feels more official in that way. Like the unifying of the families."

Bryant doesn't post much of O'Malley on her Instagram, and O'Malley doesn't have an IG himself. For now, they have their little dog to give all their love and attention to. Plus, they're taking over the world of comedy.
