The Extremely Strange Events That Happened At Dog The Bounty Hunter's Wedding To Francie Frane

In 2019, Dog the Bounty Hunter — whose real name is Duane Chapman — was devastated when his wife Beth Chapman died of cancer, per CNN. Just over a year later, the reality TV star had not only met another woman — Francie Frane — but the two were planning a life together. Dog was adamant that although he found love, he did not find a "replacement" for Beth. "There will never be another Mrs. Dog. There is not. Francie couldn't do that," he told People in May 2020. According to Dog, if his late wife were around she would have approved of his choice to marry Francie.

Grief was a factor in bringing Dog and Francie together, as her late husband, Bob, died of cancer six months before Beth, per ET Online. A mutual friend tried to play matchmaker, but Francie was reluctant. She did, however, agree to attend church with the "Dog The Bounty Hunter" star, who later claimed he "knew right away this was love." Even though he felt Francie was "the one," Dog originally had misgivings. "I felt very bad about even wanting to have someone else after Beth," he said on the "Two Guys From Hollywood" podcast (via People), but a bible verse convinced him to follow his heart.

Leading up to their nuptials, there was family drama, but Dog was determined. "[B]elieve me, nothing is going to get in the way of us," he told Us Weekly. However, strange events unfolded during the wedding.

The wedding had beefed-up security seemingly because of a weird threat

Dog the Bounty Hunter married Francie Frane on September 2 at The Pinery at the Hill in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Francie wore a flowing white dress while Dog sported a black tuxedo with an open-collar white shirt along with his trademark sunglasses on his face, per the Daily Mail. The television star's attire was far from the strangest part of the ceremony, however. His three sons, Jon Chapman, Leland Chapman, and Garry Boy Chapman all accompanied him down the aisle. Both Dog and Francie prepared their own vows. "Francie, I give you my word, I will love you every day until I die," Dog said in his vows. "I will love you, guard you and protect you," he added. That part of the vows was pertinent to the odd events that transpired during the ceremony.

Dog hired additional security for the 100-person affair. There were trained Navy SEALs along with German Shepherds to provide extra protection, as "an anonymous person threatened to throw paint on Francie's wedding gown," per the Daily Mail. One attendee told the outlet that somebody had slashed their car tires, and another guest said a "mysterious pungent odor" was left in their car. According to the Daily Mail, several guests believed this vandalism was the work of Dog's daughters. Keep reading to see why they were suspected of committing these acts.

Dog the Bounty Hunter's daughters were not invited

Leading up to Dog the Bounty Hunter's wedding to Francie Frane, TMZ reported on Aug. 23 that neither Bonnie Chapman nor Cecily Chapman were invited to the wedding. However, both daughters told the outlet they harbored "no ill will towards Francie." Cecily was under the belief that her and Bonnie's likeness to their mother, Beth Chapman, was a reminder Dog did not want in attendance.

A day after that story broke, Bonnie wrote a lengthy statement on Facebook which painted an extremely unflattering picture of her father. "I have expressed time and time again my ever-growing disappointment in my father's progression into his old racist ways," Bonnie wrote. She also accused Dog of being unfaithful to his late wife. "He would cheat on my mom all the time, and I hated him every time he did it," Bonnie added.

Later, Francie addressed leaving Dog's daughters off the invite list. "We've been through hell — him and I — in the past three years," she told ET Online just before the wedding. "And I am not going to allow our day to be ruined by this nonsense," Francie said. Following Bonnie's incendiary allegations, Dog told Us Weekly that both her and Cecily had "fallen in with a bad crowd." The bounty hunter claimed to know these bad apples because he had "arrested them" in the past. Well, here's to the happy couple!
