How Tall Is Timothee Chalamet?

In 2021, few celebrities were bigger in entertainment than Timothée Chalamet. Maybe bigger in height – he's not a basketball player, after all – but not in global recognition. His breakout came in 2017 as the co-lead alongside Armie Hammer in the romantic "Call Me by Your Name." That same year, he also played a supporting role in "Lady Bird." Both movies went on to be nominated for best picture at the 2018 Oscars and Chalamet was nominated for best actor. At only 22 years old at the time of the ceremony, he became the youngest nominee for the award since Mickey Rooney, who was 19 when he was nominated in 1944, per Vox. His fame skyrocketed and soon Chalamet became even more in demand after starring in "Beautiful Boy," "The King," and "Little Women." Showing his tremendous star power, as of 2021, Chalamet was already worth an estimated $10 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

More than just acting, Chalamet also became an impressive figure in fashion, quickly showing his ability to bring it on the red carpet. For example, Vogue recapped some of his best looks — from Tom Ford to Haider Ackermann. Whether at the Venice Film Festival or the prestigious Met Gala, the fashion mag highlighted his use of "bold suiting, heeled boots, and even sequin harnesses and hoodies."

There is no denying how huge the actor is when it comes to entertainment. But even with those heeled boots, we have to wonder: How tall is Timothée Chalamet?

Timothée Chalamet measures up to his co-stars

According to his IMDb bio, Timothée Chalamet is 5 feet, 10 inches. This makes the actor significantly shorter than Armie Hammer, his on-screen love interest in "Call Me by Your Name." (Hammer is listed at 6 feet, 5 inches via IMDb.) Prior to Hammer's fallout in Hollywood, Chalamet said (via Vanity Fair) his co-star was a person who would "present themselves as they truly are. And Armie is as he truly is." For the role in his breakout film, Chalamet was only 17 years old when first heard from director Luca Guadagnino. The actor's biggest role at that time was in the film "Homeland," so Chalamet recalled to GQ, "I was just grateful that he'd asked for the meeting."

Years later, Chalamet teamed up with perhaps the only other Gen Z actor possibly more popular than him: Zendaya. The two were part of the spectacular cast for the 2021 film "Dune." On set, Zendaya and Chalamet instantly clicked. The actor told E! that she knew right away about Chalamet, "we're going to be friends for life." Both ruled the red carpets in incredible looks during the press tour for the film. More than just an interest in fashion, the two are also the same height, with Zendaya measuring in at 5 feet, 10 inches. But unless she's wearing heels, Chalamet might slightly tower over her because of his love for elevated boots.

Timothée Chalamet's height caused a feud

In "Seth Rogen's Hilarity for Charity" special on Netflix, comedian John Mulaney took part of his time on stage to share a personal grievance. He recognized Timothée Chalamet was extremely popular and Mulaney didn't like how obsessed his wife Anna Marie Tendler was with the actor. But one thing that gave Mulaney a sense of pride was his six-foot height. So, when his wife casually mentioned that Chalamet was 6 feet, 1 inch, Mulaney officially lost it. The comedian researched online and said he found a source saying Chalamet wasn't an inch taller than him but rather, an inch shorter at 5 feet, 11 inches. He immediately told his wife, "I'm six feet. I'm taller than the boy," referring to the famous actor. Naturally, Tendler said she was joking.

A Twitter user asked Chalamet if he had seen the skit and the actor replied, "yes I watched it from the gas station." Of course, Mulaney chimed in and offered an apology in his response tweet. The comedian explained how big a fan he was of Chalamet and that the actor's success and talent made him "terrified of my own age and mortality. Also it turns out you are 6'0." Mulaney then tried to remain friends and invited Chalamet to be his partner on the long-running reality series "The Amazing Race." Hey, it doesn't get much bigger than that.
