The Truth About George Eads' Divorce

George Eads starred in the hit CBS series about forensic investigators, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigators," which ran from 2000 to 2015 and spawned multiple spinoffs. The original "CSI" series and the cast have been back in the news because of the CBS reboot of "CSI: Vegas," which premiers on October 6. Deadline reported that three stars from the original series — William Petersen, Jorja Fox, and Wallace Langham — will be in "CSI: Vegas."

"Anytime we can get any of our veterans back, it's such a great plus for all of our fans. We have a couple more surprises in store. I could probably say that," executive producer OF "CSI: Vegas," Anthony Zuiker, said at a panel about the show, per Deadline. Eads and his "CSI" costars are still beloved by fans, thanks to streaming and reruns of the hit show.

Eads, who played Nick Stokes in the popular series, was a fan favorite on the show. After "CSI: Crime Scene Investigators" ended its run in 2015, Eads signed up in 2016 for the CBS reboot of "Macgyver," playing former CIA agent Jack Dalton. However, Entertainment Weekly reported that Eads abruptly left "Macgyver" in 2019 for personal reasons. It wasn't the first time the beloved actor's personal life took priority over his work; keep reading to learn the truth about Eads' divorce.

George Eads didn't have a smooth divorce

The romance between actor George Eads and Monika Casey seemed to be the real thing. In 2009, the "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" star announced his engagement to Casey during a visit to "The Late Show With Craig Ferguson" in 2009. "I got engaged, actually, to a really nice girl ... she was my champion," Eads told Ferguson, per Us Weekly. Eads explained that Casey was really supportive after he had back surgery the prior year. Eads and Casey married in 2011 and had a daughter a few years later, but their relationship hit a wall in 2015. TMZ broke the news about Eads and Casey's divorce and an ugly custody battle shaping up between the couple.

TMZ reported that the "CSI" star wanted joint custody of their daughter Dylan, but Casey asked the court for sole physical custody. At the time, Dylan was just a year old. While the divorce and custody battle between Eads and Casey made headlines when they first began, everything seemed to go silent. Since 2015, we've discovered very little about the divorce or who got custody of Dylan.

In 2019, Fabiosa reported Eads and Casey decided to be friends for the sake of their daughter. From the lack of media coverage about Eads and Casey, it appears that Fabiosa's report that they worked out their differences may be correct.

What has George Eads been up to since his divorce?

After George Eads got divorced, his biggest fight appeared to be balancing his career and being a father. Eads and ex-wife, Monika Casey, seemed to work out issues related to their split and Eads may have felt it was time to turn his energy to his daughter, as he left "MacGyver" in 2019 to spend more time with her, per Macgyveronline. The fan website reported that Eads felt filming in Atlanta was not an ideal situation and that he was "unhappy about spending so much time away from his young daughter."

Eads interviewed with the Los Angeles CBS affiliate KCAL in 2017, and seemingly foreshadowed his exit from "MacGyver." Eads talked about being away from hiss little girl and how his friendship with star Lucas Till helped him through tough times. "There's been times when I've been missing my daughter so bad that I'll be in an emotional state, and Lucas will hold up production until we can talk it out and maybe even cry it out in the trailer," he confessed. "I confide in him as a close friend." Eads added, "I've got a three year old little girl, that changes you as a man."

Between his work on "CSI" and "MacGyver," Eads is worth over $15 million, so it seems like he is more than able to take some time off and spend it with Dylan.
