Everything We Know About The Song Blake Shelton Wrote For Gwen Stefani On Their Wedding Day
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have been together for six years and we just can't get enough of their love. The pair first met while both working on NBC's "The Voice" in 2014 and formed a romance the following year, according to Billboard.
After five years of dating, Shelton finally got down on one knee and asked the "Hollaback Girl" hitmaker to be his wife in October 2020. After months of wedding talk, the pair walked down the aisle on July 3 at Shelton's ranch in Oaklahoma, per Page Six. As noted by the outlet, the country singer built a chapel at his home so he could marry the blonde beauty. Despite their high-profile status and many friends within the industry, they opted for an intimate ceremony with close friends and family. According to TODAY, their big day had approximately 40 guests. As seen on Instagram, Stefani's three sons — Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo — who she shares with her first husband, Gavin Rossdale, were in attendance.
One celebrity who did turn up to their wedding day was "The Voice" host Carson Daly, who served as their wedding officiant. As previously reported by Music Mayhem, Shelton sang a song to Stefani as his wedding vows, which left guests feeling super emotional. As of this writing, the song has yet to be released or heard by fans. However, that will soon change.
Blake Shelton admits it wasn't an easy song to write
In a July interview with TODAY, Carlson Daly revealed Blake Shelton wrote and sang a song for Gwen Stefani as his wedding vows, which left guests with tears running down their faces. "Guitar comes in frame, stool, next thing you know, he wrote her a song, he sings her a song while he's crying that he wrote specifically for her. [...] Not a dry eye in the house," he said. Fans of the duo have been waiting to hear the song for several months and will finally be able to witness what left everyone so emotional on their big day very soon.
According to Music Mayhem, Shelton penned the track with Craig Wiseman. Titled "We Can Reach The Stars," the song will feature as the last track on Shelton's deluxe version of his album "Body Language." As noted by MusicRow, the expanded version of Shelton's record is scheduled to drop on December 3.
Not too much has been revealed about the song, however, Shelton previously admitted it was a challenge to write and needed some extra help from Wiseman when having a discussion with SiriusXM weeks after their big day. He explained he recorded the song in Nashville and admitted at the time he was unsure of what he was going to do with the recording. We can't wait to hear this one ourselves!
