90 Day Fiance: The Truth About Cassia's New Marriage
It's been a little while since Jason Hitch and Cassia Tavares first lent their budding love story to the second season of "90 Day Fiancé." That being said, a lot has changed for the Brazilian bride and her American husband.
If you remember, Jason and Cassia met through Jason's friend, who was also Cassia's boyfriend at the time, according to The Cinemaholic. Connected through Facebook, the two started chatting and eventually exchanged numbers and the rest, as they say, is history. In their case, it's quite a literal statement. While the two were certainly looking for happily ever after, once Cassia came to the U.S. on a K-1 visa, they decided it wasn't meant to be.
The couple separated in 2017, and while their initial divorce filing was dismissed, they eventually made it official in October 2018. However, the divorce was amicable to the point that Jason let Cassia stay with him for a few months after their official split while she worked on her college degree, per The Cinemaholic. To this day, the former couple remain good, supportive friends. And while Jason is still a friend to Cassia, she has found a man to replace him in her life romantically.
Cassia has a new man
It didn't take long for Cassia Tavares to move on once her divorce from Jason Hitch was finalized. Cassia left Jason's place to head back to her home country of Brazil, but then returned to America, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from South Florida University, per Screen Rant. According to the outlet, she met her new man, an Italian named Giuseppe, while she was pursuing her degree.
According to Cassia's Instagram account, the couple tied the knot in February of this year in an Italian courtroom. "Sadly, we couldn't do a bigger ceremony because of COVID," the former "90 Day Fiancé" star captioned the picture. "Yet, today is a special day that we'll cherish forever. ... I'm so lucky to have Giuseppe as my husband, a man raised with great values, kind, polite, respectful, that always makes me feel loved! I love him so much. He's truly one of a kind."
Not much is known about Cassia's new husband besides that he hails from Italy. But if fan reactions on her Instagram page count for anything, it seems she made a "holy upgrade," as one fan put it.
Will Jason get his happily ever after?
It's never easy to see people you feel you've come to know dissolve their marriage. After all, we humans do love a good underdog story. If TLC has anything to say about it, they'll probably continue helping long-distance couples for years to come with "90 Day Fiancé" and all its consecutive spin-offs, regardless of the usually unfavorable odds.
Cassia Tavares and Jason Hitch might not have had their own happily ever after, but that doesn't mean that love isn't still in the air. Cassia is now happily married to her very new Italian husband, and her ex-husband is still very hopeful to find his true match, according to The Cinemaholic. In fact, the outlet reported that he even took to social media to announce that he has a girlfriend. We aren't going to get much confirmation, though, as it seems his accounts are either non-existent or suspended.
While Cassia and Jason didn't work out, it's clear that they still have love to give.
