The Crime You Didn't Know Khloe Kardashian Committed
The Kardashian family is no stranger to the pillars of law and order. Robert Kardashian, aka ex-husband to Kris Jenner and dad to Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, and Rob, was famously a prominent defense attorney for O.J. Simpson when the NFL Hall-of-Famer was put on trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. His daughter Kim announced her plans in a 2019 Instagram post to follow in Dad's footsteps as she had begun a four-month law program. Letting people know she was quite serious about her studies, which would take up 18 hours per week, Kim wrote, "I changed my number last year and disconnected from everyone because I have made this strict commitment to follow a dream of mine – It's never too late to follow your dreams."
Not all the Kardashians, however, have always been so reverent of the law. Per E! News, Kourtney's baby daddy Scott Disick was only 18 when he was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence, pleading guilty to a non-criminal charge of driving while impaired by alcohol. (Scott's father, Jeffrey Disick, earned his own mugshot when, per Radar Online, he was arrested in 2001 for allegedly stealing $3,000 from a New York bank the year prior.)
Not even Khloé herself was immune to committing a legal offense in 2007. Here's what went down when the eldest Kardashian sibling brushed up against the law.
Khloé Kardashian and Scott Disick committed the same crime
Many fans of "Keeping up with the Kardashians" may not even remember, but Khloé Kardashian had a rough go of it in 2007 when she was arrested and sentenced to three years' probation for driving under the influence of alcohol. Matters worsened, per Buzzfeed, when she violated the terms of her probation and was sentenced to 30 days in jail in 2008 — only to be released after three hours due to prison overcrowding.
Reflecting back on this rather-forgotten period of her life, Khloé said on "The Tyra Banks Show" (via People) in 2008 with remorse, "What I could have done is just unthinkable. I will never, ever do that again." Carrying out community service as part of her sentence as well. "I have to go to the hospital and see injured people who were either a drunk driver themselves or were hurt by someone," Khloé shared. "Thankfully [they] weren't killed."
Though Khloé expressed ample remorse and hasn't repeated her offense since, Buzzfeed News noted that "KUWTK" also helped in restoring her public image. Per one emotional "KUWTK" confessional, mom Kris Jenner explained that Khloé always "struggled with her grief and anger" at every anniversary of father Robert Kardashian's death, leading her to turn to alcohol to cope the year of her arrest. However, as Buzzfeed pointed out, Robert's anniversary didn't fall until six months after her arrest. Looks like there could be some classic "reality" TV manipulation going on there...
Khloé Kardashian celebrates her and Scott Disick's arrests
Although Scott Disick never married Kourtney Kardashian, he has always felt as much a member of the Kardashian clan as if he was. Kourtney's sis Khloé Kardashian certainly treated him as such when she wished Scott a happy 31st birthday in 2014 with a special shoutout to their twin criminal offenses. Posting a side-by-side photo of their mugshots on her Instagram — one from her 2007 arrest and one from Scott's 2001 bust — Khloé warmly captioned the post, "Happy birthday to my partner in crime @letthelordbewithyou. I love you LD!!"
Although Khloé might have graciously thanked Scott in September on her Instagram Story (via Us Weekly) for Scott's Talentless company embroidering her name on their merchandise, Scott was reportedly quick to feel "betrayed" in October when the former allegedly didn't give him a heads-up before her sister's engagement to Travis Barker. "Khloé and Kris [Jenner] knew that Travis was going to ask Kourtney to marry him and they could've prepared him for the news," a source reportedly told Hollywood Life. "Instead, they pretended that they didn't know anything and kept him in the dark." Ouch! The perceived slight especially hurt coming from Khloé as Scott has always seen her as "his sister," per the insider, and "would always stick up for her whenever anyone came for her." Let's hope this unexpectedly beautiful friendship will withstand this particular trial!
