Alaskan Bush People: The Truth About Noah Brown's Marriage

Discovery Channel's "Alaskan Bush People" follows the trials and tribulations of the Brown family as they live off the grid in what was originally the remote wilderness of Alaska. The Brown family includes Billy Brown and Ami Brown, and their seven adult children. Earlier this year, news surfaced that Noah — the couple's fifth-born son — was no longer living with the family, according to Screen Rant. Instead, Noah and his wife, Rhain Alisha, left for what the outlet described as "more cushy accommodations."

According to Outsider, the Brown family relocated to Washington state in 2017 after Ami was diagnosed with lung cancer. In August 2020, however, the Palmer Fire raged at their Washington homestead, and they were forced to leave temporarily once again. In May, Noah revealed in an Instagram post that he and Rhain "personally lost everything in the Palmer mountain wildfire." For that reason, the couple and their family decided to move into a rented house until they could "rebuild what we lost." But what do we know about Noah and Rhain's marriage exactly? And how long have they been together?

Noah Brown and Rhain Alisha tied the knot in 2018

According to InTouch Weekly, Noah Brown and Rhain Alisha met in Hoonah, Alaska, while Rhain was on a trip. One year later, the two became engaged when Noah asked Rhain to marry him while on a hike in Juneau on April 17, 2017. It wasn't all smooth sailing for the couple, though. In February 2019, Radar Online reported that, when Rhain legally changed her name from Ruth to Rhain in 2018, it didn't sit well with Noah's siblings.

The outlet reported that multiple sources said Noah's younger sister, also named Rain, thought Rhain "stole" her name in a "single white female"  move. When Rhain's mother, Marilyn Merrill, spoke to Radar, however, she said her daughter had gone by Rhain since she was 12.  "Rhain was in junior high when she told me that she was no longer going to be called Ruth anymore."

Rumors later surfaced that the Brown family would not allow Rhain to take the family name. Noah, however, shot down those reports, telling Radar Online, "Rhain is my wife and she is my wife for life and of course she will be taking my last name." He added, "It feels wonderful to be married. Rhain and I were engaged for over a year and we are finally married."

Noah Brown and Rhain Alisha are expecting their second child

In May, Noah Brown and Rhain Alisha announced via Instagram that they are expecting their second child. News of the pregnancy came just three months after Noah's father, Billy Brown, sadly died after experiencing a seizure.

Rhain gave birth to the couple's first child, son Elijah Connor Brown, in 2019, according to DiscoveryPeople reported that Elijah was born on Tuesday, February, 26, 2019, weighing 7 lbs, 5 oz. In a statement to People, Noah shared, "Rhain and I are thrilled to announce the arrival of our son Elijah Connor Brown. Mom and son are healthy and happy — he's already working on his howl! Rhain is a wonderful mother already, I am truly in awe of her and we are both very grateful and excited to welcome him to our family."

In a separate statement at the time, Billy added, "The day is finally here — we're grandparents! Ami is over the moon and we all feel so blessed. We can't wait to meet the handsome young man and have them all back on the mountain soon." It sounds like no one can "rain" on this happy couple's parade!
