Why Carmen Electra Regrets Getting Plastic Surgery

Carmen Electra looks almost exactly the same as she did when she first launched her career. The actor and model, who rose to fame after posing for Playboy and starring as bikini-clad babe Lani McKenzie on "Baywatch" in the '90s, may not be as active professionally as she used to be, but she's an avid Instagram user. She engages with her fans by mostly sharing throwback photos, as well as posting pictures of her fashion looks. Electra also launched her own beauty line in GOGO Skincare in 2020 — and previously revealed her skincare routine is how she's kept her skin looking so young.

"I have always focused on a moisturizing makeup removal, hyaluronic acid serum, and a deep moisturizing face cream packed full of high-quality essential ingredients," she told Page Six in December 2020. "And always applying SPF to protect my skin was an absolute must [on set]." Over the years, the star continuously maintained that her flawless looks had no help from cosmetic surgery. In fact, she's expressed regrets about the plastic surgery she did have in her late 20s.

Carmen Electra wishes she never had breast surgery

In 2010, Carmen Electra shared her regrets over having her breasts enlarged. The star told Fabulous magazine (via Metro UK), "I had breast surgery over ten years ago, taking me from a 32B to DD, which took a bit of time to get used to. I didn't want to go as big as that. It's nice that I don't have to wear a push-up bra any more, but I could have left myself alone." She added, "I think I was fine the way I was. I had nice breasts before — though they were small."

According to UPI, Electra also called the surgery "silly" a few years prior. "They weren't the biggest boobs, but I just think it was really trendy [to have implants] at a certain time and I decided to do it," she said. "There's moments when I think it's kind of silly and I wish I would've just stayed natural." Electra, who was married to rocker Dave Navarro at the time, said her husband "actually wants me to get 'em bigger but I said no."

Carmen Electra isn't ruling out plastic surgery in the future

Carmen Electra also opened up about plastic surgery and the pressures to go under the knife to maintain her looks. She told the Daily Mail in November 2020, "Let's be real, we are in Hollywood here and when I share the real story most people are shocked, because normally a woman would have certain things done. In my case I am completely free of [surgery] and I would say [my youthful appearance] is because of my discipline with my skincare routine."

However, that doesn't mean the actor will never have plastic surgery in the future. "For the moment I am happy with my routine and it's working! I feel that everyone has the right to be who they want without judgement," Electra explained, before offering some advice for anyone who's considering getting some work done. "I would say never rush anything in life. Beauty and self-care especially should be like an adventure where you can explore all the many amazing modern options people have available, [both] surgical and non-surgical." She added, "If you do things with love and care you can never go wrong."

As for Electra, for now, she will continue rely on her full-proof skincare routine.
