Jane Seymour Has Always Been Gorgeous

Being a success in the entertainment industry usually means that you are talented and motivated, not to mention the fact that you are likely charming in various ways. It also doesn't hurt to be good-looking, at least when it comes to someone who appears in front of the camera. Just take a look at Jane Seymour, for instance. Having enjoyed a lengthy and fruitful career, she's still active in show business even now in her 70s. In fact, in February, as she was marking her 70th birthday, Seymour opened up to People about getting older, saying that she was "feeling incredibly healthy and well." She added that, when it comes to her age, it "just appears to be a number."

At the same time, the "Somewhere In Time" star discussed the fact that she's admired for her looks, admitting, "I don't quite understand what a sex symbol means, but am I still a full-blooded woman? Definitely!" Despite not quite fully comprehending the nature of the status, she still feels like it's "flattering."

Frankly, being considered beautiful isn't anything new for Seymour. Just like other older celebrities who used to be really attractive — and still are — this actor has always been gorgeous.

Jane Seymour went from girl-next-door to polished star

Thanks to Jane Seymour's soft features, a smile that's almost a smirk at times, and chestnut hair, she has a striking look that is both playful and elegant. Even when she was younger, she had a girl-next-door beauty that hinted at the polished star that she would become. Indeed, it didn't take long for the actor to land enviable roles, like Solitaire in 1973's "Live and Let Die" before starring in "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" during the '90s. However, there's something else about Seymour that has always made her stand out. According to Good Housekeeping, she has heterochromia. That means her eyes are different colors. While one is brown, the other is green. No wonder Hollywood has always been captivated by her!

Yet, things haven't always been easy for Seymour. In 2017, she revealed that she had been sexually harassed by a powerful producer early in her career. She explained to "Sunrise 7" (via The Hollywood Reporter) that when she went to the man's house for a meeting, she recalled, "[H]e said, 'No, no, you know what you have to do.' And I'm going, 'No, I don't.'" After he put his hand "way up high" on her thigh, she insisted on leaving and he threatened her to keep her quiet. Although it kept her from acting for a year, it thankfully didn't make her abandon her career. After all, as she told New Beauty, "I can play my own age, I can play younger, and I can play older with some lighting and a wig. There's not a lot for me to complain about. So, yes, please, let me get even older! I just like to be alive. Everything after that is a bonus."

And we're so glad she's still around to offer her fans an optimistic outlook.

Jane Seymour has advice for staying young

When it comes to getting older, Jane Seymour told New Beauty in February that she "feel[s] the same." However, while Seymour noted that she's "a glass-half-full person," she added, "My thinking is, 'Just be as young as you possibly can be.'"

Granted, if she could go back, the star would have done one thing different to help her stay looking even younger. "I do wish I could tell that younger version of myself — that young girl who lived in England where it's cloudy and rainy most of the time — that she shouldn't bask in the sun with a reflector board and cooking oil during those two weeks of vacation!" Indeed, getting too much sun isn't exactly good for your skin, per WebMD. Fortunately for Seymour, she noted, "I stopped sun-worshipping a long time ago, so I guess I'm lucky there."

The actor also revealed that she consumes plenty of vitamins, does pilates, eats fresh produce, and takes "a daily walk on the beach" (*enviable sigh*) to keep her healthy and rejuvenated. Also, she hasn't had (or ruled out) plastic surgery, as she told New Beauty, "I think having good skin is really the secret to not aging your face." Along with "protecting yourself from the sun" during the day and "[u]sing retinol at night," as well as "using ... great skincare that plumps your skin," she noted that "pretty much anything that makes me feel healthy, is the best anti-aging secret I know."
