The Most Stunning Plastic Surgery Transformations

Plastic surgery often gets a bad rap for making people look... well, plastic. But as much as we love to ogle plastic surgeries gone wrong (hello, Botched), we'd be wrong to assume that there aren't any good examples of cosmetic procedures in Hollywood. In fact, plenty of celebs have gotten minimal work done and look absolutely amazing. Not only that, but a lot of them are willing to talk about it. Gone are the days when stars had to explain away a newly refreshed look by saying they've been drinking more water! Many Hollywood A-listers (and let's face it, many B- and C-listers) are more than willing to give blow-by-blow details of what they're doing to stay forever "young."

From pinned-back ears to tucked eyelids and lipo'd necks, the entertainment industry at all levels is filled with plastic surgery triumphs — and we've found the best of the best. Take a look below at some of the most stunning plastic surgery transformations ever. (By the way, yes, that's Ashlee Simpson up there!)

Will the real Sharon Osbourne please stand up?

Sharon Osbourne looks lightyears different than she used to. Back in her early days, photos with husband and rock legend Ozzy Osbourne revealed she looked very much like the suburban mom next door. But obviously, a little (or a lot) of TV exposure can inspire people to take their appearance to new heights, and Sharon credits several plastic surgery procedures for her now-stunning face. "I had my neck done, my jowls ... He kind of pulled it from the top of my head and put an elastic band in it,” said the star on her show The Talk. "But everything was just lifted up. So it looks more refreshed."

Despite her gorgeous results, Osbourne agreed with Jimmy Kimmel when he suggested that most women don't look nearly as good after they get surgery. "Do you know what it is? It's just that it's so popular now for men and women to get facelifts that there's, you know, very few really good surgeons and there's so many people wanting to have it done that, you know, odds are you're going to get a dud," she told the late night host.

Obviously unafraid of the knife, Osbourne didn't stop with facial surgeries, either. During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, when asked about her most painful procedure, she quipped, "Having my vagina tightened." We'll take her word for it on that one.

Ashlee Simpson got a new nose... and a new look

While we've seen many a celebrity nose job go wrong, singer Ashlee Simpson's rhinoplasty seemed to have completely transformed her look for the better. The singer and cute younger sister of Jessica Simpson turned heads when she debuted a slightly altered face back in 2006. When asked about it back then, she played coy. "Everybody's already saying it, so I just don't talk about it. I'm like, OK, whatever. It doesn't bother me," Simpson told the Associated Press (via CBS News).

Even though she refused to acknowledge it directly at the time, Marie Claire editor Joanna Coles wasn't shy about expressing their opinion. According to The New York Times, Simpson appeared on the mag's July 2006 cover with her old nose, saying it was best to appreciate one's body as it is. Later, after her nose job, the mag received 1,000 letters from readers accusing the magazine and Simpson of hypocrisy. In their August 2006 issue, they printed some of the protest letters with a note from Coles that read, in part: "We're dazed and confused — and disappointed — by her choice, too!" Ouch.

So... did she really have surgery, or not? Simpson still isn't answering the question. But after years of being asked, she also seemed to get tired of the whole cat-and-mouse game. "As long as people have two eyes, you probably know the answer," she told Us Weekly.

Remember when Michael Douglas stepped up his game?

Michael Douglas clearly got the memo: When you're married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, you'd better bring it. As he told the story during a live interview at the Paley Center (via The Hollywood Reporter), he was completely enamored with Zeta-Jones from the instant he met her. "I looked at her, and I said, 'Catherine, I'm going to be the father of your children. The first time I met her! You think that went over big?" Obviously, it did, since the couple has been together since 2000. So how did he keep this smokin' hot babe who is 25 years his junior? Being part of a legacy Hollywood family could have helped... as would a facelift. Ahem.

As rumor has it, right before the birth of his child back in 2003, Douglas got a "face augmentation" in a Beverly Hills hotel room, and was later reportedly seen with "plastic surgery scars" in 2005, according to UPI. While the actor has never confirmed any procedures, he seemed to transform into a chiseled hunk straight out of a romance novel. We may never know the truth about how that happened, but the industry has continued to speculate.

For Heidi Montag, the 10th procedure was a charm

Heidi Montag's before-and-after pics still have us in shock. At the peak of her career on MTV's The Hills, Montag admitted to having over 10 different surgeries, which, let's be honest, made her look like a different person.

At the time, Montag was open and enthusiastic about her surgeries. After getting multiple procedures at age 23 (which included a mini brow lift, nose job, chin reduction, and neck liposuction) she told People: "It was so worth it! I see an upgraded version of me ... I feel like almost all of the things I didn't want to be and who I turned into kind of got chiseled away."

Still, the journey wasn't easy. When she was 32, Montag said she wouldn't recommend it. "I wish I had waited and not made a decision so young because I have long-term health complications," Montag admitted to Cosmopolitan. Her husband Spencer Pratt also said the pressures of Hollywood coupled with the business of plastic surgery was devastating. "Everything [Montag] did came from people criticizing her in the comments on Us Weekly and People magazine," he told the mag, adding "She brought printouts of what the trolls and haters said to the doctor and said, 'Can we do something about this?' ... And it's upsetting that you can go to a doctor and say, 'Here's what I hate about myself,' and he'll say, "I can fix that. For free."

Farrah Abraham went from Teen Mom to temptress

Like Heidi Montag, once teen mom Farrah Abraham started plastic surgery, she kinda never stopped. Oddly, despite how serious multiple surgeries can be, it seems to have worked in her favor. According to In Touch, an Instagram post in 2017 especially had tongues wagging about her dramatically altered appearance, thanks to several procedures including chin implants, a nose job, and three breast augmentations.

She even told the mag that she'd support her daughter (who was 8 at the time) in getting plastic surgery "if she validly wants something that's not outlandish, and she envisions herself that way." She continued: "Hopefully, by that time, I'll have like 15 years or so, I'll be out with my Ph.D. and my doctorate, and I will be able to help her clinically and personally. So I'm supportive in that." An in-depth photo timeline on In Touch traces her journey from average girl next door to super sultry babe... and the results are almost unrecognizable!

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro refused to give in to the dad bod

Dudes, take note: Just because you're about to have a kid doesn't mean you have to give up on your looks. Jersey Shore's Ronnie Ortiz-Magro had no problem admitting that he got lipo on his midsection, and let's just say we ain't complaining. After all, who are we to judge? The road to shredded abs is always paved with good intentions.

While Ortiz-Magro said on an episode of The Doctors that he's always been a "workout fanatic," he explained that staying in shape got way harder after his daughter was born. "One year ago today my life completely changed. I had a little baby girl. She's like my guardian angel, and now I can't spend two to three hours every day in the gym like I used to," he said (via People).

So, like anyone with a reality show under their belt might do, Ortiz-Magro hit up his plastic surgeon, who offered him a new kind of liposuction that would create lnstagram-worthy abs. "We're going to be able to get that area in between each of his abs completely defined, so that he actually has a six-pack for many, many years to come," his doctor Christopher Khorsandi said on the show (via People). Wow, where do we sign up?

RHOC's Vicki Gunvalson has come a long way

Known as the "OG of the OC," Vicki Gunvalson of The Real Housewives of Orange County has been slowly but surely making "adjustments" here and there throughout her years on the show. A look at this plastic surgery timeline from In Touch shows a huge transformation over the years, and according to the mag, her surgeries include a nose job, chin implants, and fat injections in her face.

In 2018, however, Gunvalson had her fillers taken out in order to go back to a more natural look. "Through the last four, five years, as I got older, they kept wanting to [add] Juvederm, and Restylane, and this and that, and Sculptra, and before I knew it, I didn't look like myself. So, I took all the fillers out. I have totally smooth skin now," Gunvalson told Entertainment Tonight. At the time, it seemed like she was finally satisfied with the results of her procedures. "I feel great," she told the outlet, adding, "I want to be back to, you know, being a 56-year-old and looking the best I can be."

Jane Fonda: 'I think I bought myself a decade.'

Jane Fonda was cute back in the day, but she's 82 as of this writing, and you'd think you'd see a wrinkle here or there. Nope. Instead, she's completely flipped the script on what it looks like to be an octogenarian, admitting to The Guardian that she had a little nip and tuck along the way. "I'm two years older than my dad was when he died. Katharine Hepburn was three years younger than I am now when she made [On Golden Pond]. People looked older back then. I wish I were brave enough to not do plastic surgery but I think I bought myself a decade," she said.

Just don't make the mistake of asking her about it now, though. When Megyn Kelly brought up the subject with her on Today, things got super awkward. Kelly asked, "I read that you said you felt you're not proud to admit that you've had work done. "Why not?" to which Fonda snapped, "We really want to talk about that now?" before changing the subject to talk about her new movie. But it didn't stop there as a full-blown feud later broke out between Kelly and Fonda

Fonda later swore off plastic surgery for good, telling Elle in 2020, "I'm not going to cut myself up anymore." As for Kelly? Apparently her pettiness lasts longer than any fillers, as she tweeted in response to Fonda's revelation, "Wait... I thought ... oh never mind."

Ariel Winter had a breast reduction with zero regrets

Being scrutinized as a teen actress has been especially difficult for Modern Family's Ariel Winter. The star told Glamour that at the height of her career, "I was 15 years old with [size] F [breasts]. It's like, How do you navigate that?" She decided to get a breast reduction at age 17.

After her surgery, she posed for SELF magazine topless. She also went to the 2016 SAG awards in a backless dress showing her scars and later tweeted, "Guys there is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars! They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all."

Winter told Glamour that she's seen a big difference not only in how she looks, but in how people treat her. "Guys I'm friends with can start looking me in the eye," she noted. "Other people I know can finally not turn around and whisper behind my back about, 'Are those real? Are those fake?' I've heard that for so many years. Even at 14, people would ask me, 'Do you have fake boobs?' But we live in a society that that's what they think about." While she was beautiful before, we think she looks amazing now, too!

Bristol Palin got a new chin... for medical reasons

Bristol Palin shocked everyone when she got plastic surgery at the tender age of 20. Even though she told Us Weekly it was "corrective jaw surgery" to fix a misalignment, a look at the before-and-after shows a formerly round-faced Palin compared to post surgery, where she has a distinctly sharper jawline and chin.

"Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons," she told the mag. "I don't obsess over my face." Still, some experts said they didn't buy her claim. As one plastic surgeon told ABC News, "You would never get that type of aesthetic improvement by just repositioning the jaw. Her claim that it was just functional sounds like a little bit of a cover up."

Regardless of how she got her new look, we think she looks absolutely gorgeous. And Palin herself seems to agree, telling Us Weekly, "I look older, more mature, and don't have as much of a chubby little baby face!"

Even Jennifer Aniston got a little help once

People often come down on celebs for getting plastic surgery while forgetting that even TV and cinematic icon Jennifer Aniston admitted to getting a nose job. Although, she says hers wasn't for vanity reasons. "It's funny. I had [a deviated septum] fixed – best thing I ever did. I slept like a baby for the first time in years," she told People. Aside from that, the actress insists that any other rumors about her doing plastic surgery are false. "As boring as it sounds, it's still mine. All of it. Still mine."

Although time will tell, so far it seems like Aniston is actually against getting any other work done.Harper's Bazaar noted in 2014 that Aniston had "previously admitted to trying botox 'once, and it was not good,'" which is why she criticized the product while speaking to the mag. "There is this pressure in Hollywood to be ageless," she said, adding, "I think what I have been witness to, is seeing women trying to stay ageless with what they are doing to themselves. I am grateful to learn from their mistakes, because I am not injecting s**t into my face ... I see them and my heart breaks. I think, 'Oh god if you only know how much older you look.' They are trying to stop the clock, and all you can see is an insecure person who won't let themselves just age." Sounds like she's more than prepared to age gracefully!

Kelly Rowland's implants were well worth the wait

Of her breast augmentation, singer Kelly Rowland said: "I wanted to get breast implants when I was 18, but my mom and Beyoncé's mom told me to really think about it first. I took their advice and waited 10 years (via AP). By the time she was 27, however, she was ready.

After getting surgery that took her from an A to a B cup, Rowland seemed pleased. Yet at the same time, she didn't expect everyone to like it. She told People magazine (via Today), "It is a decision I made for myself. I like it, and that's all that counts." She also acknowledged that it was a serious decision that shouldn't be taken lightly. She continued by warning young people: "Think about it before you just jump off and do something [you may regret later]."

However, when her son was born in 2017, her surgeon's handiwork started to lose its aesthetic appeal. "My nipples were HUGE — we are talking the size of Frisbees," she wrote in her parenting guide, Whoa Baby!. "Even with the silicone action, it was like some of the air had been sucked out and they just sort of hung there like flapjacks." The singer vowed to "see someone (wink, wink) after I have my second kid." While she certainly didn't need bigger boobs to look amazing, when you see the photos, it's hard not to be jealous!
