Justin Bieber Dodges Water Bottle After Refusing To Sing 'Despacito'

Justin Bieber may want to learn his part of the song "Despacito" at some point — and soon.

Although the remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's song of the summer is the first Spanish-language song to hit No. 1 on the charts in 21 years, it turns out Bieber has yet to learn all the lyrics. And it keeps getting him into trouble.

Entertainment Tonight reports that the 23-year-old was performing at the Summerburst Festival in Stockholm, Sweden over the weekend of June 9, 2017 when a fan urged Bieber to sing his recent hit. As seen in a YouTube video of the performance, the singer swiftly responded with, "I can't do 'Despacito.' I don't even know it. I can't do the song."

And while honesty may be the best policy, it certainly didn't work to appease this fan, who moments later threw a water bottle at the "Sorry" singer's head.

To his credit, Bieber took the water bottle attack in stride. He dodged it with ease and calmly pleaded, "Woah, don't throw things at me, please."

But this isn't the first time Bieber has come under fire for not knowing the lyrics to the popular song. As Nicki Swift previously reported, the Canadian pop star made headlines in May 2017 after flubbing the Spanish lyrics at the 1 OAK nightclub in New York City. In TMZ's video of the performance, Bieber is heard substituting the words with "blah blah blah," "dorito," and "burrito." Yikes.

However, Fonsi himself has cut his collaborator some slack. The musician told Rolling Stone, "That chorus is not easy to sing, even for fluent Spanish singers like myself. It's got a lot of lyrics, it's kind of tongue-twisty....I've done songs in other languages. I know how hard it is."

That may be the case, but Bieber may still want to invest in some Spanish lessons.
