The TV host had to postpone Season 13 of her talk show after serious complications from Graves' Disease and an ongoing thyroid condition. Eventually, the show announced on Instagram that guests will continue to host her show until she is able to return. However, they emphasized that "Wendy is a valued and stalwart member of the Debmar-Mercury family and has been so for 12 years... As soon as she's ready, she will be back in her treasured purple chair."
Besides her questionable comments on-air, her brother also tends to place her back in the limelight from time to time.

Some siblings of celebrities tend to ride on the coattails of their famous brother or sister, and this seems to be the case with the infamous talk show host Wendy Williams. Williams has a sister named Wanda but she tends to stay out of the public eye. However, her younger brother, Tommy Williams Jr., continually makes headlines for commenting on his sister's personal life.
Tommy has somewhat of a following on YouTube and boasts almost 15,000 followers on the platform. The vlogger tends to film himself driving around southern Florida where he lives, and ranting to his followers about his sister's latest antics. He continually uses her name and pictures on his YouTube videos, quite possibly in an attempt to draw in more viewers. He also revealed that he battled COVID-19 in 2020, with a YouTube video titled "Wendy Williams brother still fighting Covid."
When he's not talking about his famous sister, he chats about his daily life and passion for health and fitness. The Sun reports that Tommy is also a celebrity fitness trainer and manager outside his career as a vlogger.

Over the years, Wendy Williams' brother Tommy has often spoken to the public about their family business, despite Wendy's opposition to putting their private matters online. In 2021 alone, there has been quite a bit of drama between the brother and sister.
In January, Tommy took to Instagram live to blast Wendy for not attending their mother's funeral. He claimed that Wendy and her son skipped out on the funeral (though they did attend the wake) because her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, was to make an appearance. "I don't understand how a person cannot go to a funeral and hold up the one person or the family member that you do have, the parent that you do have left, and just move on," Tommy said on his live stream, according to The Sun. Wendy responded publicly on her talk show and warned her brother to stop talking "nonsense" about her. "He's pegging me to being a person that I am not," she said. "Honey, you don't want me to start pegging you for being the person that you are."
Despite their very public feud, Tommy continues to talk with the press about his sister and her health. "There's a concern because [of] her inability to be active and her motor skills being slowed down because of her lymphedema," he told In Touch in October. However, he did offer some praise, adding that Wendy is a "warrior."
